it was amazing
bookshelves: own, literary-fiction, 1001-books, kindle, favorites

My first Murakami, and I thought that it was great. The book was easy to read, complex and very gripping. I became caught up in the various characters and trying to figure out what was going on.

I am looking forward to reading more Murakami in the future.

Lise Petrauskas This book grows on me in retrospect, too. I have such clear memories of it a year after reading it. So glad you liked it, Sera!

Sera I really did, Lise. It was such a different experience for me.

Thanks for chiming in :) It is always nice to hear from you.

Julie "...trying to figure out what was going on"....that is normal Murakami!
(I am reading this book now)

Sera I thought that it was great. Very interesting and enjoyable.

How are you liking it? Is this your first Murakami?

Julie Stupid GR didn't notify me that you posted here. It is my third. I have already read 1Q84 and Kafka on the Shore. I think I might like it more if it was my first. They feel so similar.

Sera That's what I've heard, too - that they all feel similar or that they even have common themes. It's good to know, because I own the other two books that you had read by Murakami. I'll make sure that I space them out over time.

Julie Ever see that Murakami bingo image? It gets funnier with every book of his I read.

Sera No, I haven't - I'll have to take a look. I'm sure that there are many cats on it - ha ha ha.
