The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1) by Julie Kagawa is one great book with fierce characters and unpredictable plots. I read it last week. Also, I love The Hunger Games Trilogy, except book 3 (it's a bit flat for my taste)

I really badly need to read the Immortal Rules.. I'm wishing it would already be available here.. I'm still waiting for it here.. I see.. I'm hoping my mom would get be the Hunger Games Trilogy for my birthday. haha! I'm also trying to debate if I should buy the Infernal Devices series or the Mortal Instruments series..

Have you read Wake (Watersong, #1) by Amanda Hocking ? I'm thinking of buying it. I'm into reading mermaids/sirens/sea creature books right now. I've read Of Poseidon, Just for Fins, and Lies Beneath..

Is Of Poseidon good? I plan to read it this month. I'm intrigued by Greek Mythology.

Oh! Forgive my fins is the first one, right? That's what I read. haha! Sorry, I mixed up the titles. As for Forgive my Fins, yep, I liked it. Reminded me of Little Mermaid. Honestly, I got satisfied with the ending that I'm putting on hold reading the sequels. When I read the blurb for the sequels, I sort of felt sad. I didn't want a love triangle. haha! Maybe I'll read them someday. :)

Of Poseidon is my first mermaid story so yeah, I actually liked it. It has an interesting plot. I found it funny, witty, and smart. The writing style though is a bit confusing. It alternates between Emma's perspective on first person and then to Galen's on third person. The romance part is a bit too fast for me. You know, a little insta-love. Thankfully, it's not too mushy. And oh, the cliff-hanger! haha! :)

message 14: by Gisbelle (new)

Gisbelle | 25787 comments Great! Thanks. Insta-love? Well, there are way too many books with a little insta-love, so it's not something I wouldn't expect. Glad to know it's not too mushy..lol. As for cliff-hanger, I don't think my patience is strong enough for that due to the number of series I've read recently and all of them are like that. If you are familiar with Pretty Little Liars series, you know what I mean :)

message 15: by Jan Bethel (new)

Jan Bethel (jan_bitz) | 108 comments Yeah, not too mushy for me anyway.. haha! It's a fresh read for me so I liked it. I have been drowning in werewolves, vampires, angels, fallen angels, and other paranormal reads lately that Of Poseidon was just what I needed. haha! Ah, yes! I watch Pretty Little Liars. hahaha! The cliff hangers in that one is always killing me, that I decided to just wait for the season to be complete and then watch it. ;)

message 16: by Gisbelle (new)

Gisbelle | 25787 comments Jan ~ Haha :D It's always great to experience something new. I am not very familiar with YA paranormal like (I've read only a handful of them).

Ah... The Casual Vacancy!!! I am going to read it too. Hope it'll be as good as Harry Potter, if not better. Anyway, I really don't like the cover. It's just too simple.

AWESOME LIST!!! I have read You Against Me, Lola and the Boy Next Door, The List and The Future of Us... And they are all fantastic books!
The List is a bit confusing at first for me because there are so many main characters. I forgot who was who and had to go back and forth countless times :D But it turned out it was worth the effort.

Great list! I recently started uglies and got it out of my school library but I don't think I will have enough time to read it all but it was pretty good (what I read so far) so I might just buy the series at a used bookstore or maybe even my local B&N! I'm so glad you joined the group! Hope to see you around and don't forget to have fun!
