Louise Thought this looked an interesting challenge to get involved in so am gunna jump in. And since I've already been keeping track of all my reading this year I'm going to set a retroactive start date of January. Where I've got a review up on goodreads will link to that instead of the book.

Am only including fiction and won’t be counting any rereads here, new books only.

* represents authors I hadn’t read before.

Aaronovitch, Ben Whispers Under Ground
*Barnes, Julian A History of the World in 10½ Chapters
*Carter, Angela The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories
*Dexter, Gary The Oxford Despoiler: And Other Mysteries from the Casebook of Henry St Liver
E
*Feilding, Henry Tom Jones
*Gibbs, Abigail Dinner With a Vampire
*Hobb, Robin Assassin's Apprentice
I
*Jensen, Carsten We, The Drowned
Kipling, Rudyard Kim
*Lovric, Michelle The Undrowned Child
*Miéville, China Kraken
*Niffenegger, Audrey The Time Traveller’s Wife
O
P
Q
*Riordan, Rick Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief
*Stewart, Mary The Crystal Cave
*Tolstoy, Leo Anna Karenina
U
*Valente, Catherynne M. The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making
Wodehouse, P.G. Thank You, Jeeves
*Xiaolong, Qiu Death of a Red Heroine
Y
*Zamyatin, Yevgeny We

I have books already lined up for a lot of the letters. But any recomendations for any of the harder letters - especially Y, Q - would be great.

Nikks | 547 comments I like your idea of putting a * next to authors you haven't read before. Good luck with the a-z challenge. I just started too, but am not going back over the books read this year.

Louise Thanks. Good luck with yours too!

Am kinda surprised just how many of my reads this year have been new-to-me author's actually. Feeling quite happy about that.

Nikks | 547 comments There are so many great books and authors out there, it's just a matter of finding them :)

Louise Thanks, might check that out :)

And just finished my first Catherynne M. Valente for V: The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making. Absolutely loved it. Will have to check out a couple of her other books before I can officially claim her as one of my favourite authors though.

Picking up my first T book from the library a little later.

For Y, I'm currently reading When the Grey Beetles Took Over Baghdad by Mona Yahia and am really enjoying.

Louise Ooooh, that looks really interesting. Shall definitely keep it in mind when I get to Y :)

Finished it last night - 4 stars from the hard to please Liverpool jury. And it's only 99p on kindle at the mo'.

Louise And one more letter down! T - for Tolstoy. Was a slog but I really enjoyed most of it.
