Anna-Louise, how'd you get it? Bought it?"
Ah well I will read it when it becomes more readily available. Thanks

Anna-Louise, how'd you get it? Bought it?"
I Brought the hard back,it was more expensive then i usually would spend on a book but i really fancied reading it. But sadly yes its the only version us UK peoples can join in with.

That's too bad! I wonder how we'd check to see if books are available worldwide?

I dont know either but it is a problem on several groups for me. Very sad

I just noticed the too Adrianna, you beat me too it :)

Glad I cant get hold of it then....... please update more later for me.

I've read about a third, and I agree it has somewhat of a YA feel to it, as if things aren't really that serious.

I'm in my 40s, too.

I don't really know what's YA and what isn't, but I thought a book like The Hunger Games was considered YA and that's about something relatively serious. Yes?
I honestly am interested in the YA thing, since I never paid any attention and it seems to be something that I should know about.

My take on a YA book is that often the story is aimed at a younger audience and is therefore often tied up with teenage angst or themes which are important to a younger reader and not necessarily to an older reader.
But hey what do I know maybe I am an old fart who liked books written in a set way??? :) :)

Its great isnt it? I also notice that Candace suggested a YA slant and peeping at her home page suggests she isnt a teenager either. Sorry Candace!

Could be. Also, I am kind of childish when it comes to books, so a book about books would feel like my age, not matter how old I am :)

I don't know if "serious" was the right word to use. It just I have a hard time thinking of Isaac as an adult. The way he acts seems somehow teenagerish. I have to keep reminding myself that he's not a kid. Does anyone know how old the author is?

Maybe on nomination threads members not in country book initially published in could comment if book not available them.
Otherwise, the only thing I know to do is run book title thru a few country sites for big box booksellers that sell in more than one country. With amazon for example, amazon.com, amazon.de, amazon.fr, amazon.co.uk or whatever.
Unless WorldCat specifies?

Debbie, if the majority have voted for this book then just read it. I have made comments before in other clubs about the book being unavailable and it just upsets people, who think I am being unfair.
Don't worry about it just bear in mind that new releases in the US often have not reached us here in the UK.

That's ok.

I'm not getting a YA feel for this, meaning I don't know that this was targeted for a younger audience (younger as in teenage through early 20s). I do get a heavy nostalgia and geek vibe, reminiscent of Ready Player One, just not so 80s focused.
I'm not a fan of paranormal or urban fantasy (unless written by Charles de Lint for the latter), so vampires are like my second least favorite character cliche (the first being zombies - ugh). I do love the dryad though. She rocks (or should that be woods? or trees?). :)
I hope to finish this today and will post more comments in the 'finished reading' thread then.

I think that's a difficult question to answer, since reading is always such a personal sort of thing. I'd say look at someone's review who seems to like the same types of books as you.

My opinion is no, but I'm sure others would disagree.

I finished it and I'm glad I did NOT spend $12 on buying the book.
Not a bad read, but not a great read, or at least one that I would have shelled out more than ten bucks for.

Ditto. I got mine from the library, which was great. I might pay 50 cents for it in overdue fines, as its a newer book and I waited to read with the group. :)
In my book reviews, a determination of star rating is often influenced by whether or not I would buy it, and whether or not I must own it. A lot of my threes are "borrow-library-worthy."
