Your excuse is you need to read it before the movie is released :P

Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets

Oh, Brenda I loved In Clood Blood, it's a brilliant book.

I'm not sure Brenda. What about Ed's book A Dark Place to Die? He's a member here and it sounds like a good read.Plus it's on my TBR list and I sure do need to lessen that!!! I'm more than happy to second one that you guys choose...you know more about this genre than I do.

And my nomination for New book is A Beautiful Place To Die by Malla Nunn - bought this book ages ago and still haven't read it.

One that's been on my bookshelf for years and I've been meaning to read is The Black Dahlia by James Ellroy. He's not easy to read, though.

Thanks to you Brenda, I had a "light bulb" moment and got the hang of this. I always wondered how people were highlighting their book choices. Duh!!!!

When nominations close (at the end of October) we will have a poll (for November) to pick the groups next books. This will allow a month for people to find the books.
Please nominate one book only for the recent and older Crime poll (it can be true crime) and tell us why you have nominated it.
