sorry - I really shouldn't take on these tasks after a full day on the computer at work - I go screen blind lol!

Correcting it now.

I thought I was supposed to review Marcelle or Mona according to the original list?

Jay Howard (jay_howard) Sylvie wrote: I thought I was supposed to review Marcelle or Mona according to the original list? "

Group 1 became a bit of a mess for a while as Johnny and Marcelle pulled out after round 1. Two of our registered readers, Rebecca and Lauren, filled the breach at short notice for round 2, Kanwar joined in for rounds 3 and 4, but that still leaves us one short. Would you like a break from reviewing for this round or would you like the other members in the group to nominate their books for an extra review from you? Or perhaps you'd like to review Kanwar's book to give him 3 reviews in this group - it would be a nice way to say thanks for stepping in to help us out.

Larry Garner (larryanimalgarner) | 25 comments I have received Eileen's "Sydney's Story", and will get to it soon. http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15...

Jay Howard (jay_howard) thanks, Larry, duly recorded :)

I have Jay's book, received and ready to read. Need to find the book's link. e

message 10: by Jay (new)

Jay Howard (jay_howard) I'm reading yours, Eileen - couldn't resist! - but I'm afraid I can't review it until I leave this group.

I'll be glad to review Kanwar if it's OK for me to review him when he reviewed me. ButI still have to finish Philip's book which I hope to do today.

message 13: by Jay (new)

Jay Howard (jay_howard) Thanks for the offer, Sylvie, but we don't allow reciprocal reviewing. Kanwar is offering to help out by filling a free slot in Group 4.

Hope you enjoyed Philip's book, and well done with getting out to that farmer's market to make some sales of your own book :)

Anne Carlisle (acarlisle) | 328 comments I have successfullly received Larry's book (D-E-D Dead) for review. (I'm pinch-hitting here in Group 1 for round 4...at least I think that's what's happening, as I'm a member of Group 3).

I've just put the review up for Philip's book on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and the two Amazons. I think that means I've finished with Group One. What now?

message 17: by K.A. (new)

K.A. Krisko (kakrisko) | 1702 comments Sylvie, post the link to the review here, and then if you want, we can roll you in to another group. I think Anne is taking care of that this week, and there may be room in Group 5 or Group 6. And thanks so much for your dedication in getting through an entire Group! If you're ready to continue, we're ready to re-group you!

Anne Carlisle (acarlisle) | 328 comments Sylvie, thanks for your review of Philip's book. Nice job. And Kathy, thanks for the helpful hint on signing up Sylvie for a new group. I seem to recall we're waiting on one last person for Group 5. I think we're also looking for someone to take a vacant place in Group 3 for the last two rounds. I'll check further on this and post another note for you by tomorrow, Sylvie. Don't go away!

Thanks for making me feel better. I did even worse than that; in the process of deleting the post I'd put in the wrong place, I also erased Jay's original post with the pairings. Now that was a bad moment in time!

ps--bought a copy after having trouble with the file. It was worth it!

message 24: by Jay (new)

Jay Howard (jay_howard) Wow! Thank you, Eileen - my first 5*! I was fairly sure #2 was better than #1, but I didn't expect that!

Thanks, Jay. And the reprimand was well deserved.

message 28: by Jay (new)

Jay Howard (jay_howard) I meant what I said about possibly 5* with an edit, though. It really is an excellent story, well conceived and executed. I'm just rather easily distracted by errors.

message 29: by Anne (new)

Anne Carlisle (acarlisle) | 328 comments I've completed my "pinch-hit" review of Larry's book, D-E-D, Dead a bit early for Round 4. Glad I had a chance. Interesting book with great potential for a film. Here is the link to my review, and I'll follow up on Amazon for you, Larry. Let me know if there are other places I should post it.

message 30: by Mona (new)

Mona Karel (monakarel) | 78 comments Moving into Round 4, there was a delay when my Kindle decided to give up on me and no amount of hard starts, begging, or threats helped any revival. Fortunately Amazon took pity and I got a pretty good deal on a replacement. I have Whorticulture up and ready for a read. Some patience, please I'm also trying to do NaNo this month PLUS rewrite an old story...and that's harder than writing from scratch, I'm finding out

message 31: by Jay (new)

Jay Howard (jay_howard) Good luck with your dual writing efforts, Mona. I'm the opposite to you - it's the first draft I find hard, then I can happily fiddle with it for years unless someone gives me a kick and says, "It's finished, so publish it!"

message 32: by Larry (new)

Larry Garner (larryanimalgarner) | 25 comments Thanks to Anne and Mona for their reviews of my book D*e*d Dead The more input I get, the better chance I'll have of doing a better job next time. This has been a great experience!

Jay, I've done that also. And since skill sets change (I hope improve)over time I see so much wrong with that older book. A lot right also, and so rewrite

Hi Kanwarpreet,
This round doesn't technically start for another couple of days so give it a day or two. I will also contact Mike for you.

Jay Howard (jay_howard) That's what we're wondering too, Mona. If it comes to it, perhaps Sarah Intidam, our latest registered reader, would like to do a review for you? Lauren and Ella have been very helpful, too. I wouldn't suggest asking Rebecca as I know she's snowed under for a while.

Thank you -- sorry. If you hit Ctrl+F5 that should clear the browser cache and the correct links should load. I had a little trouble getting the links to work the first time around so I had to fix them. :)
