25.8 - 25. ♥Robin's Task: Spreading the Love

Is "LOVE" the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the words February 14th or Valentine's Day? It's the first thing I think of. This is the one day of the year when most people will openly show their affection to those they love or care about by sending flowers, cards, candy or other goodies. Personally, I like to spread/share the love all year long but will settle for the next 3 months Have fun, enjoy and spread the love!!!!

Read 1 book from 2 different options.

REQUIRED: Please state the 2 options you chose when you post.

REQUIRED: If using cover options, please include the book’s cover in your post.

All standard SRC book guidelines apply.

Option 1: Read a book by an author whose initials can be found in any order in "VALENTINE'S DAY".
Author's middle name/initial may be omitted. Initials can be found in any order.

Option 2: Read a book that's cover is primarily Red,Pink or White.

Option 3:Read a book with 'Romance' listed as a genre on its GR home page.

Option 4: Read a book where the word "LOVE" is used in the title or subtitle. Will ONLY accept these variations of the word "LOVE": loves, love's, loved, and loving.

Option 5: Read a book with heart(s) or flower(s) on the cover.

Option 6: Just because I LOVE YOU...Read any book of your choice that meets SRC's standard/general guidelines

Stacie (shorty_320) | 1335 comments This may be a bit of an odd question... I'm hoping for option 1 to read various childrens book. Would you consider Dr. Seuss's initials to be DS? I'm only questioning because Dr. is obviously not his first name, but it is the name he goes by...

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) Sorry it has taken me so long to resepond to you Stacie. I have been sick with the flu since Sunday :(

Yes, I will accept that. That is his pen name and the most common name that people know him by. I'm not sure how many people know that is real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel and he went by Ted LOL I didn't know that for many many years myself LOL

Just make sure you read enough to make your alloted # of pages

Melanie (melaina) | 380 comments Hi, this might sound like a silly question, but I was wondering if you meant one book that fits two options, or two books from two different options? Thanks!

message 15: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (shorty_320) | 1335 comments Another silly question from me, for option 2, can the cover have a mixture of those three colors? Pink and white, red and pink, etc.?

Thanks Stacie and YW!!! I still feel a little achey but getting better...I hope

The book can contain all three colors but must be primarily be one of the three.

Example: Perfect Princess A Princess Diaries Book by Meg Cabot is primarily red but contains white and pink too.

Hope that helps

Cassie | 133 comments I was wondering if Sweets is white enough for option 2?

message 19: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Hi Sandy - May I ask clarification on Option 6? I'm new to SRC so I don't know if I'm following SRC's standard/general guidelines.

Are you talking about the ones in this thread? http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) Cassie wrote: "I was wondering if Sweets is white enough for option 2?"

I will accept that one Cassie. It appears that the book is primarily white with the lollipops on the corners There's even a pink and red one.

Hi DG...yes those are the guidelines for Option 6. You may read any book that you would like as long as you meet those rules regarding page numbers, the book is read during THIS challenges begin/end date, the book can only be claimed for one task etc etc

Peebee | 481 comments Kicking and Dreaming A Story of Heart, Soul, and Rock and Roll by Ann Wilson

has the word "heart" and a picture of Ann and Nancy Wilson (= the band Heart) on the cover. I realize that wasn't probably what you had in mind for option 5, but does it count?
