Very much so!!!!

@Lisarenee Whether he's thinking it or not, there is a very distinctive protectiveness there.

Well he also had a "you're mine" vibe going on, but that might have been due to the job contract, but I agree that it seemed to hint at something more.

Sure thing. I liked the first one too. Loved the conversations between Remy and the dog.

message 308: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) Finished The Restorer (Graveyard Queen, #1) by Amanda Stevens and Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward , so I now have 5 more to finish.

I decided to stop sulking and picked up Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning again, just to realize that 1) I don't like the book and 2)it really frustrates and sometimes annoys me like no tomorrow.
I don't get it. Is a good book. A solid book. Well written, great plot, good world building, strong characters, I should totally love it. Instead, I keep forcing myself to read. But I'm as stubborn as a mule, so I will read it and won't give up on the series.

message 309: by Alisa (new)

Alisa Stayed up late last night to finish The Kingdom (Graveyard Queen, #2) by Amanda Stevens It was really good.

Currently I am reading The Legend of Eli Monpress (Books 1-3) by Rachel Aaron , Royal Street (Sentinels of New Orleans, #1) by Suzanne Johnson , Tricked (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #4) by Kevin Hearne , and Heretic (Templar Chronicles, #1) by Joseph Nassise .

If you liked the first one Alisa, then you will like the rest of them. They were fun to read. Marlowe is my favorite character, some of the books didn't have enough of him, but were still good.

message 315: by Alisa (new)

Alisa Going to finish up The Prophet (Graveyard Queen, #3) by Amanda Stevens today. Really enjoyed this series. Makes me want to go poke around in old cemetaries. Not sure what will be next.

message 316: by Sara (last edited Feb 21, 2013 09:04AM) (new)

Sara | 860 comments I finished American Gods, No Dominion, and Magic In The Blood and enjoyed all three bokks. American had numerous appearances by mythological characters and mythology is a huge passion of mine. No Dominion had a heavy focus on Gary with appearances by Cernunos and Morrison so it couldn't be anything but awesome. Magic In The Blood continues the Allie Beckstrom series - the plot was a bit weak but I like Allie, Zavyion, and Violet so I enjoyed it.

Up next are God Save The Queen, Entangled, and Unbound.

American Gods by Neil Gaiman No Dominion by C.E. Murphy Magic In the Blood (Allie Beckstrom, #2) by Devon Monk God Save the Queen (The Immortal Empire, #1) by Kate Locke Entangled by Edie Ramer Unbound by Kim Harrison

Alisa Went to the library to get my kids some Magic Tree House books and found Ever After (The Hollows, #11) by Kim Harrison sitting there waiting for me to check it out. Was surprised it was in. Just finished it & I have to say I think I'm done with this series. This book was really just more of the same from the last two. I don't need a happily ever after in all my books but geez this is book 11 & people just keep dieing and no one is happy & everything looks bleak. This was my first uf/pnr series so I'm feeling a little sad about this break up. Anyways.......going back to Rise of the Fallen (AKM, #1) by Donya Lynne and then on to The Warlock King (The Kings #3) by Heather Killough-Walden

Alisa I'm reading The Warlock King (The Kings #3) by Heather Killough-Walden and then I'm going to be starting Dark Magic by James Swain which I just came across at the library. Has anyone read this? I've read this author's series about the PI who investigates casino scams & I've really like them. Didn't know he had a paranormal one. Interested to see what it will be like.

message 335: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I have been reading this book called Claimed (Brides of the Kindred, #1) by Evangeline Anderson
It does not suck, the heroine is really anoying though instead of whining why not open your mouth and have a conversation?? I am hoping they will do this before the book ends.

Still reading The Rook (The Checquy Files, #1) by Daniel O'Malley which is honestly a good book but it is not holding my interest.

I cannot figure out what I want to read so while I will continue on with these two I am also adding...
Destiny (Rogue Angel, #1) by Alex Archer The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien Nice Girls Don't Bite Their Neighbors (Jane Jameson, #4) by Molly Harper Dark Awakening (Dark Dynasties #1) by Kendra Leigh Castle

message 336: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4718 comments Dawn, I thought Claimed (Brides of the Kindred, #1) by Evangeline Anderson just seemed to go on forever. There was a natural stopping point and then EA just started a whole new line of consciousness. I got bored. Haven't picked up the next couple though I'd already bought them.

message 338: by Alisa (new)

Alisa I'm reading The Hunter (The Legend Chronicles, #1) by Theresa Meyers which I got free earlier this week & it's pretty good. It was described as "steampunk western" & that sounded unique enough to try. It started off reminding me of the TV show Supernatural. Dad & his three hunters sons except it's set it the 1880's. They're now grown up & one of the boys has joined forces w/a succubus demon that wants her soul back, to find a mystical book that may or may not be hidden by the entrance to hell.

You know it really does...I am starting to skim, it looks like her sister will have her own book and I was kind of hoping it would be resolved in this one...no such luck though

message 340: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4718 comments Dawn, I think they are up to about book 6 or 7. I know I've got the first 3 and just having a quick look, nothing is resolved yet.

Which is pretty typical, but I'm used to EA being shorter and I'm not sure she's suited to the longer length book, it was almost like 2 books in one.

message 341: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4718 comments Alisa, glad you're enjoying that one, I picked it up free last year, but haven't gotten to it yet ;)

I've never read any steampunk before so I don't have anything to compare it to. There's really not any mechanical in it except for the horse & the weapons. I have a few others lined up to try at some point.

message 347: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments Steampunk is something that I really want to like, so I keep trying a lot of them. But I have only really found a couple that I have finished or even liked.

Steampunk seems to be a genre where either you love it or hate it.

message 348: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4718 comments It can be done really badly for some reason.

Maybe its just one of those things, the combination of historical, romance, mechanics and fun, just makes it difficult.

message 349: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I want to like steampunk but I just never seem to. I want to try and read Boneshaker (The Clockwork Century, #1) by Cherie Priest but if that does not work it maybe a lost cause.

message 350: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments You should try it Dawn, but go the library route, so then if you don't like it, all you are out is time.
