We are not apposed to testosterone. LOL
Shahbaz, welcome to the group. We have a good time discussing books and everything else. We will be reading the whole series if you are interested.

33 chapters so 7 a day? That will be five days.
And Shahbaz, don't worry about reading ahead, we all tend to do it :)

The Hobbit was good for being 1/3 of a book. I thought I would be pretty annoyed, but in general, I left the theatre humming.
I'm on board for book three. Exciting! :D

My turn off with books come with when I think the lead is too whiny or just off their rocker crazy. But Cat seems to be a strong willed woman and I must admit I like it. So sign me up for the full series :)
I agree with you. I can't stand whiny especially in a lead character.
Happy you will be joining us :)

Sexiest dwarves ever!

Shabaz ! Welcome to the club, I've seen you around the threads, had no idea you were man :) that in itself makes me openly embrace you into our discussions, it will be very nice to hear your opinions, though be warned , we will swoon for alpha male & hear nothing negative on the topic ... And before it startsyes a man named Bones can be sexy. Sorry if the thought never crossed y'all's mind, it's an ongoing argument in my life.
Lys glad you don't hate your ITF ( in the flesh) buds. Sometimes when I see mine face to face I thank god for phone apps. Oh that wasn't nice, oh well, so, do we just talk about whatever till Monday, or can I admit I already started reading... Shabazz your not the only one with that bad habit, do you at least understand spoilers? I don't so you've been warned:)

Not bad. Hell actually pretty good. And the thing with Dave good moment there.
Now I realize why I am enjoying this particular PNR. Cat is a special breed of woman. Heck she makes decisions like I would. None of that moral dilemma of "Oh my god its blood, I can't drink that" She says Fuck it, drink the blood, become stronger, or stay behind. I loved that absolutely loved it. And the bed breaking...oh yea definitely something to read.
Cant wait to start the next book, but gonna tackle Side Jobs first.
Yeah, I like that about Cat. She doesn't second quess herself. She sees what needs to be done and does it. I was thinking about that at the end of the first book when she left Bones. Most other heroines would have had a couple of chapters going back and forth with themselves on why or why not. She just does it because she thinks its the right thing.
Chapters 1-7 Possible spoilers!
I knew Tate would become the first vampire!!
Dave seems to have taken to being a ghoul well so far. Of course, a few months have already passed. I don't really like that in series. Usually I would prefer the next book to pick up right where or shortly after the last one left off. Otherwise I get the feeling like I am missing something - like in this instance Dave's convergence into the world of the dead.
I'm glad Cat's mom is finally coming around somewhat. Even if she's not happy with vamps, she's at least beginning to accept Bones and his friends.

Tate has a serious attitude problem and being a vampire is not going to help that. He wants to be the one with Cat and he's not. Cat's mom is a little less hostile to Bones which is a big improvement.
I would not want to cross Cat or Bones. It will be hazardous to your health.

:)
I am heading to the post office today (been out of town for a few days and have requests from PBS piling up) so I plan to read while waiting in line. I'll probably have time for 7 chapters and then some. le sigh. I hate the post office.
I'm so excited for this one!
I always make my husband go to the PO for me on his days off...in fact I'm sending him tomorrow :)

OMG that is THE BEST idea anyone has ever had.
But I don't think my hubby would go for it.

You can still join in the discussion if you want. We'll probably be reading the next one in the series next week if you want to join :)

Too bad :) He has a rotating schedule so he usually has three weekdays off every week. I have him do my errands for me since I'm working during the day...he doesn't seem to mind as long as I don't ask him to get groceries. He hates that - and always ends up spending way too much!

I like the fact that Cat's mother finally got the truth off her shoulders and told Cat what actually happened that night, even if it did end horrible(the whole i'm a vampire we are demons thing)
Being a guy I would really hate to find out one day I had a kid and he or she thought I was some kind of rapist. Yea Max an asshole, probably a rapist too, but he didn't rape Justina.
I'm not liking Tate too much, too much want-to-be Alpha male going on there and he has been told already he has no shot at head of the pack.
I wish we could have seen more of what happened right after Dave got brought back, but it was skipped.
Oh and I cant wait to see what Bones will be doing to Max...must...read....ahead...
:)
I agree - I would like to have seen more of Dave's transition. I'm getting ready to read the next section (through chapter 14) here in a few minutes...just finishing up some homework first :)

So far, I'm reeling.
Who leads with torture, murder and mayhem? Where can it go from here? :)
Dave's transition would have been nice to see.
Max clearly became willing to rape, even if he wasn't a rapist once. Also, Max didn't have to be such a jerk about things early on. I would feel bad for him being the parent of the half-breed if he hadn't thought it was a wonderful joke to 'green eye' Justina into thinking that she'd had sex with a demon. That shows maliciousness above and beyond what is strictly necessary.
Is anyone liking Annette better? It was interesting to get her take on the backstory.
And honestly, I get that Frost is trying to make Bones' decisions here justified (throwing support of other characters, having Cat recognize how unfocused she's being, etc), but I think her desire to be there is perfectly reasonable.
Then again, who wants to have steamy sex scenes with someone they've seen torture people.
...
I can see his point too.
I am glad we heard the backstory of Annette and Bones because I didn't understand why he liked her so much.
Justina is not a good mother but hands down Max is the worst parent!!!

Leigh, you're listening to this, right? How do they pronouce Bone's grandshire's name - Mencheres?
Men-Care-eez
I am a very bad girl and I am ok with it.LOL
I am almost finished the book. I had to know what was going to happen.

Lol, bad Leigh :D That's how I thought it was pronounced...
These books always make me laugh, but the best part to date is chapter 13 - (view spoiler)
I think we lost Clare and Thena...

Through chapter 14 - (I probably would have read ahead but I have to start working now :/)
Interesting plot going on...war with Mencheres wife? I'm sure Bones is pissed at him for not telling him. And someone needs to kill Ian. I don't like him.

Tracy, what book are you on? You are welcome to comment on any of our threads. The series just gets better with every book I read.

This is the first time I sympathized with Justina. I still think she's a PITA, but her craziness wasn't completely her fault. This book made me look at her a different way and give her a chance when I wasn't willing to before.
Tate gets on my nerves, and Cat putting up with the way he behaves towards her makes me want to smack her sometimes. I kind of wish Bones would have at him. ;-)

Heh. It was so hard not to spoil it for you when we were talking about the first one! LOL
Lol, thanks for not telling me! I knew he could read minds because they talked about it in Once Burned :D

Well, I started with
