Simone I had no idea this would be a book about Zombies. Had I known, I would have dropped it like a hot potato!!

Turns out - I really enjoyed it!!

Who else was duped?

Dentd it was not about zombies!!! they are just metaphors of the dangers of society!

...kidding, i wasnt duped. i was actually expecting a zombier story but it turned out to be more about politics and "love"... also the title is FEED and its bloody! i wonder at which page did you realize its about zombies?????

Simone LOL - did not take long!!!

Irvin Kelly Not really a zombie book. It's more about journalism. I did not enjoy this book. It bored me silly.

Tasula I knew it was about zombies, which are gross, but it was really good. A few other zombie books are so good the ick factor doesn't bother me- Daryl Gregory's Raising Stony Mayhall was fabulous. Also, Warm Bodies, Ex Heroes (Cline), Necropolis (Waggoner), Brains (Becker), Breathers (SG Browne), and for hilarity- My Life as White Trash Zombie and Happy Hour of the Damned.

Marcy I knew it was about zombies, but was more intrigued by the title "Feed" and the use of the RSS Feed symbol on the cover. I hadn't really been into zombie books before, but was drawn in because this one gave the impression that it would be about more than that. Which is probably a good part of why I loved it. :)

F B i was duped, i thought it was a book about zombies TURNS OUT its more about politics. But i enjoyed it nonetheless..

Kayla De Leon I thought it was a book about zombies but as I was reading the book, it turned out to be more about politics and journalism but I still really loved it

Diane I was pleasantly surprised that it was not a book about zombies. I was expecting a good zombie book but they were just an element in the suspenseful action adventure book of political intrigue. I usually hate political stuff but loved this whole series.

Space Preacher I thought this was Feed by M.T. Anderson!

Not really, but I like both Feeds.

Book has anyone read the 2 following books. I enjoyed them all, plenty espionage, murder, zombies and twists.

Diane I've read them and will eventually read the short stories also. I really liked this series even though ( or especially because) it was not what I was expecting.

Tracey Ennis Wasn't fooled but this book was brilliant - I am literally lost trying to find something that measures up to it.

MommyDearest It wasn't for me. I stopped about a third of the way in. Just couldn't get into it.

You should take a look at these series. So good!

Zombie Fallout by Mark Tufo

The First Days by Rhiannon Frater

and

Rot and Ruin by Jonathan Maberry

Cris Bergin I did read all three of the books and there is another called "Countdown: A Newsflesh Novella"

If you liked the 1st book and you haven't finished the 2nd and 3rd novel I would recommend it because it doesn't end how you would expect it to.
Enjoy!

David Marshall The idea for the trilogy is good but, as is increasingly the case with modern publishing, the books are far too long. A little padding is OK but these books are overinflated.

Kylie I love zombie books, so this was no surprise to me, however, this is less of a zombie book and more of a zombie setting to enable a really good political thriller to take place.

Deeptanshu I loved this book especially the fact that the zombies themselves are more of an after thought and the politics is the main focus.

message 19: by J. (new) - rated it 4 stars

J. Martin It is a great book and the title has a double meaning. Feed on people and news Feed. Which made me like it even more.

J.G. Martin

Zac Not much of a zombie novel and the one thing I REALLY learned is that for some reason the author believes the best way to sell something as scientific is to just give it two hyphenated last names. Because... scientists. lol

Jordan Tasula wrote: "I knew it was about zombies, which are gross, but it was really good. A few other zombie books are so good the ick factor doesn't bother me- Daryl Gregory's Raising Stony Mayhall was fabulous. A..."

World War Z was pretty great too, and totally not your average zombie novel. You should check that out too.

Jordan Zac wrote: "....the one thing I REALLY learned is that for some reason the author believes the best way to sell something as scientific is to just give it two hyphenated last names. ..."

Sci-fi authors have been doing that for years. The name of the Company in Aliens, the name of the FTL drives in the Halo universe (the novels, I don't think they tell you that in the games)....I'm blanking on other examples, but I'm sure they exist.

Zac haha - I wasn't trying to suggest that she invented a new trope here, just that she clung to it unflinchingly. I don't have my copy in front of me, but it wasn't just Kellis-Amberlee - she did it with the name of tests, the name of the virus threshold scale, legislation... it just got so commonplace that it stuck with me as mildly comical.

Cheyanne Zac wrote: "haha - I wasn't trying to suggest that she invented a new trope here, just that she clung to it unflinchingly. I don't have my copy in front of me, but it wasn't just Kellis-Amberlee - she did it ..."

As far as legislation goes, usually they do have two names signifying the prosecution v. the defendent in said grounbreaking case. So I'm not sure if that one is accurately a trope she clung to in order to make a point so much as how they are actually referenced... >.>

Shellie When I first started reading, about half way through the first book, I stopped and looked up, and thought, OMG, somebody's written the first zombie political thriller.
Cool :)

Ariel this is seriously one of my all time favorite books. just started her other book Parasite.

Tracey Ennis I really loved the whole series and was truly sad to see it end :( Wish she would write more, don't think I can get into the parasite one :(

David Marshall I strikes me Parasite is just a rewrite of Newsfeed.
