Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I do like amazon but there are some other great places as well.

Really great to buy multiple books in a series because they have a bundle where you can get a series or part of a series for like half price plus they are not drm...whatever so I can actually loan out the book I brought go figure lol

they also sell bundles but they are paper and it is free shipping in the US

For used books I like

In case you are not state side I like

- which also has free shipping worldwide

Last but not least if you want to trade I use

Which is really sad because most of the trade sites are gone.

Hazel Bullock (pinkhazel) I live in the uk and agree that book depository is good:-) between them and amazon I've always managed to get hold of what I've wanted.

What books (or types of books) are you looking for that you aren't finding? Perhaps we can provide more targeted advice for you if we know the treasures you seek. :-)

I used to have to make special "trips" to the website for Baen Books to buy their ebooks, but they now are available via Amazon as well.

Smashwords can be tricky for me and I have no idea why. Unless I am looking for something in particular I find I have a hard time browsing. Is that common with you or is it just me?

Sorry I didn't get back to you Dawn. My notification for this thread vanished.

I've gotten a couple of good books from Smashswords but they were ones that I was specifically looking for.

I'm not much of a browser in general. I usually get recommendations from Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and look for those books on various sites to get the lowest price.

Star Fouse | 15 comments If you have a Kindle or are able to read books through a Kindle app on another device Amazon has an eBook section under: Kindle Store Limited-Time Offers. Ive got it bookmarked as alot of the books featured there are free. Albeit its mostly either The Holy Bible or porn for some strange reason. Theres a few books thrown in between though!

Alisa Talking about bookstores there was an article about this great place in LA. A friend & I go every few months & each take $20-$30 each & then trade off. It's a book lovers dream come true.

Jacy (jazabell) | 214 comments I use Amazon the most. I also go to Barnes and Nobles when my kids great grandmother sends them gift cards but only because they like to "touch" their books, not big on browsing. That's where I pursue the isles and look at what's out there. I go to online stores with specific books in mind and then see what the cheapest price is. Most of the time it's amazon.

I also suggest looking at the local goodwill or thrift stores because lots of times you can find "hard to find" books there.

I know that the big chain stores (in the states), Wal-Mart and Target, now have special sections devoted to books on their sites. Target also has a book club of sorts.

I wish I lived near LA, I'd be going to the bookstore more often.
