The move went well. We still have a couple of boxes to unpack but we are mostly set up.

I think it may be mainly that when I was 9, my sister and I went to see Return of the Living Dead and I haven't really liked the zombie genre since. I also thought the main character, Lee, acted out of character for a very military person. At least to me anyway. Mostly, I think it's just the zombie aspect of it though.

Emma (M) Hi Leslie, I've added Steph's book, but when I went to have a look at the other tabs I noticed you had included Swerve in the Extra Books tab. I just wanted to let you know that Swerve doesn't qualify for this challenge as I started it before the start date for Grimm, just in case you were wondering why I didn't include it :) I had to finish it as it was a netgalley read.

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments Good morning Team!

I think Jenne must have wanted an easy one after all the issues with TIME! I'm excited as well!

Emma, thanks for letting me know. One of your links to your shelf took me to your main "read" shelf. That's when I saw it. I didn't realize it wasn't on your Grimm shelf until later. I will remove it. Thanks for catching that! And thanks for updating! It's good to have a partner.

Let's keep reading those TIME books and get a few more in before the mini challenge ends. Have a great day!

message 216: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 798 comments For the mini challenge ending today, can we post tomorrow if we finish late tonight? What's the deal on that?

I have a book with stars that will work and I'm sure I can finish it tonight, I'm just not sure if I'll be awake enough to post it (although I will if necessary)

Thanks!!

Holli | 333 comments Courtesy of the library (yay!) I will be reading Wicked Charms (Lizzy & Diesel, #3) by Janet Evanovich . I was not expecting to get this today as I was 4th in line for it. They got in four copies, so I have the book on the release date. No spoilers or overhyping to ruin it for me before I read it myself. Whee!

message 222: by Shelby (new)

Shelby (stang_lee) | 982 comments Just added two more books to my tracking post. Both blue and mini's. :)

message 223: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments Wow - great work team!! I have a meeting after work but will update when I get home.

Totally agree on Cinder - I have read the first 3 in the series and loved them. I am very picky about YA fantasy and this one was a favorite.

Jackie - I loved that series!! Wasn't expecting to - but I thought all three books were great.

Congratulations on getting the book early, Holli! That's always such a nice surprise!

Posting tomorrow will be fine for any book you finish today. No worries. I'll be finished with my book tonight as well.

I'm finally reading Eighth Grave After Dark (Charley Davidson, #8) by Darynda Jones and loving it!

Jodi - good luck on moving!!

message 224: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 798 comments Thanks Leslie, that's probably what I'll do since I didn't get to read at all today. But I'm leaving work and my husband is away for a few days (quiet time!) so I'll get to it tonight

Listened to this as I was packing the last 2 days. I loved it, now I will have to finish this series too. At least I will have something to keep me busy. :)

@Leslie-I'm glad you are enjoying Eighth Grave After Dark (Charley Davidson, #8) by Darynda Jones . I can't wait until January for The Dirt on Ninth Grave (Charley Davidson, #9) by Darynda Jones , it is just too long...(sighing)

Emma (M) Leslie, do you know why our scores haven't been recorded in the Grimm spreadsheet? I saw that you have posted our last two groups of 10, so I am not sure why its not recorded. Do we have to enter it ourselves?

No that's me lol running behind. I'm updating that this morning. When I click on the link for y'all in the finished post it just directs me back to the team vs the tracking post. I tried to hunt through all of the posts for it and didn't want to mess anything up so I went ahead and posted your points for sets 1&2 by looking at your team's spreadsheet. It doesn't look like the 100 points for finishing the set of 10 is on there.
Based on your spreadsheet I put down 695 for set 1 and 470 for set 2. Is that right?

message 233: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments Yes, that's right Jenne. And I didn't add the 100 points - I wasn't sure if I should or not.
I'm so sorry about the links. I've don't them twice and it's doing the same thing to me. Not sure why. Don't know if it's GR's or my computer. If there is a better way to track things I'll be happy to do it.
Thanks for all your hard work!

message 234: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Do what works for you :)
I'll just follow your suit so we're tracking things the same. I'm gonna go add the 100 for the sets of 10 done on the overall spreadsheet then :)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1052 comments Finished Eighth Grave After Dark (Charley Davidson, #8) by Darynda Jones late last night. It was a strange one for me. I liked things about it and somethings not so much. But it definitely seemed to have way more emotion and less snarkiness, which works for me. And I love Beep!!

I'm not sure what you mean about my posting shelf? It's on my Grimm shelf because I finished it during the challenge and even though it didn't fit towards our 10 I thought anything we read counted for points? Am I wrong in this?

Catherine | 880 comments Sorry...one question....does the watch count separate form the blue cover? Oh...and do character names count?

Lol...yes..I know that's two questions!!!

message 245: by Emma (M) (last edited Jun 25, 2015 02:15AM) (new)

Emma (M) Hi Catherine,

The watch does count seperately from the blue cover as the blue cover is the major challenge (lasts two weeks) and the watch is the mini-challenge (lasts 1 week), however, the mini-challenge changed about 27 hours ago (going by the clock they have linked to) so the watch won't count for points at this stage. However as the mini challenge for this week is to read a book that has one man on the cover (no other living creatures/people) or is written by a man, or is in the man's POV at least 50% of the time or is narrated by a man at last 50% of the time (if you listen to Audible books) and Bellman & Black seems to be from a male's POV, you will get poins for the mini challenge for hat book. Please let me know if I am wrong about the male POV for Bellman & Black.

I forgot to answer your second question... at this point character names do not count. This may change for a future mini or major challenge.

message 249: by Catherine (last edited Jun 25, 2015 03:19AM) (new)

Catherine | 880 comments Ok...then to clarify....I need to start my books on the day before (23 instead of 24) and finish day before (30 instead of 31)...otherwise...if I finish on the last day of each mini challenge....none of my books will count..

message 250: by Emma (M) (last edited Jun 25, 2015 03:41AM) (new)

Emma (M) I'm not sure because it is dependent on your time zone relative to the time zone the challenge changeover is based on (Dallas apparently) For instance for my time zone the changeover didn't happen until the afternoon of the 24th. The best way to keep a track is to keep an eye on the countdown clock which is usually posted a couple of days before the challenge changeover. How long ago did you finish the books, was it more than 29 hours ago?
