That's what I thought about, too, because BRB always seems to pop up first, regardless which of your books I put into the search box. But it's lots of fun to play with it. :D

HJ | 3603 comments I've just finished the audiobook of All She Wrote, and I loved it! Kit is so funny, and the narrator did him really well. I loved his JX, too. The voice change was subtle but clear. And his women's voices were amazing! Anna's "Christopher, darling, ..." - absolutely convincing.

I should know this - were we told JX's full name? Am I dreaming, or is his second name Xavier?

Don't you just love when that happens? When a book inspires you to re-watch something you haven't seen for a while or makes you want to listen to the music you have almost forgotten ever existed? :)

Re-reading (listening to) CUTYS aroused a strong longing in me to read poetry. I've found myself going through the bookselves fetching for my favourite poetry books for a few days now. Likewise some books trigger an intense want in me to sketch and to paint.

Some time ago, when I was tired and not well, all this rarely happened. I think that it definitely has something to do with the relaxation factor and with the stress level... like when you are more at ease, more painfree and worryfree, your senses are somehow more receptive, more open. When you don't have to put all your strength into surviving every day, every moment, you simply are able to let your mind wonder ocassionally. You have time to absorb things around you. I certainly find myself enjoying things differently, more fully than I have been enjoying for years. The little things that I let myself do these days -- just for FUN, not because they MUST be done -- make me extremely happy. Like re-watching the ballet CD after reading an intriguing book that has a handsome ballet dancer in it... ;)

Oh, this makes me think of hubby's bad habit to sing (loudly!) in the shower. Last weekend he almost drove me CRAZY by singing Summertime a hundred times in a row in the sauna.

Today I've been listening to Tom Waits' first album Closing Time (1973) which Lady*M recommended on the H&M playlists topic. The whole album is wonderfully soothing. Really lovely...

... to me anyway. For some reason hubby seems to find it irritating. I can't figure why, though. He does like music that sounds a lot like it. Huh. Taste in music is a strange thing...

... maybe it just depends on the mood and the moment? Sometimes when I come home from work and the day has been busy and the students lively, I can't bare to listen to some of the "harder" music I normally enjoy without any problems.

Okay-dokay. I shouldn't have written anything about hubby disdaining Tom Waits and Closing Time. Right now he is listening to the Waits' Rain Dogs album (1985) on his own. The Downtown Train has been playing a few times in the row already... ;-)

Up here in Hamburg it's more modest (10°C), but I'm going home for the weekend and there's supposed to be 21°C on Sunday :-D Yeeha!! I wonder if people will look at me strangely if I prance around in ultrashort stuff. Living in the north makes me behave like English teenagers, seriously...

Now, see, there's the difference. Hubby never gets fed up with the songs he is listening to (or singing) over and over again.

To his defense I have to say that he has learned to use headphones lately. Although that doesn't help the singing part... ;-) Hmm... Maybe a gag?
