I cant seem to find an/the E-Book of Downbelow Station does anyone know if there is such a beast? I've tried all the usual haunts, Barnes and Noble, Amazon etc.

any help much appreciated.

The publisher stopped selling the eBook. At my library's emedia section, you could still borrow it in PDF format, though. Try asking your librarian. Otherwise, you have to read the physical book or the audiobook. Sorry!

I'm having a hard time finding the book at all. I found an ebook version at my library, but it's not compatible with my Nook. And I haven't been able to come across a dead tree version, so I may just be out this month. *sad face*
I guess I'll just have to study for my math placement test instead. *sigh*

With books this old, it's very difficult to find a copy on the shelves of any retailer. I only found a battered paperback copy of it at my library. If you want to buy it, you'll have to do so on line (or order it from your local book shop). The mass-market version is about $8, the trade paperback (hardback-shaped) version is around $11:

Hey everyone, I am SO sorry I didn't see this string earlier. I am new to the S&L group and just got Downbelow Station a couple weeks ago. I WAS able to find an e-book version at ebookscentral.com .

I had to pay to join ebookscentral in order to download the book, but everything worked fine. I believe it comes as a PDF and then I used Calibre to convert it into Kindle format. (NOTE: I had to disable Malware Bytes to get the document to download, but I scanned it with both Malware Bytes and ESET Nod 32 and the file was clean. The site is also very slow to load, so be patient.)

I know it's way late, but I hope this is helpful to the e-reader junkies like me.

Buzz, I hate to say it, but I don't think EbooksCentral is legit. From what I've found via various serches is that the author hasn't made the digital version of her book available yet because the rights haven't reverted to her, and her publisher isn't doing it either. What you may have paid for is access to a pirated e-book, one the author gets no money for.

My library only buys from the publishers, I think, and they had a PDF. I think that's why it's only available in PDF?

Dude, that sucks if it was a pirated version. I would never knowingly purchase a pirated title. Seemed like a legit website, but I'm pretty naive to that sort of thing. I had read many posts that some libraries carried it in PDF/e-book format (but not in L.A.) so I thought it was good to go. I hope you are incorrect.

You'd think publisher's would be smart enough to make ALL Nebula and Hugo award winning titles available in e-book format. I was thinking about reading Cyteen (Cherryh's other Hugo winner) but it is also not available, even on ebooks central.
