Synthetics, or Synthesized Organics (SO) are the evolution of the primitive toy robot once favoured by the children of the ancestors of Actuals. Invented by Navid S. Darzi in 6067, they have since become an integral part of almost every planetary system in the universe. From the highest of security to the lowest grunt work, they are the backbone of our societies and have been so for nearly seven centuries

You would be hard-pressed to walk any farther than a block in any of the major cities of the galaxies without spotting a Synthetic. Marked by their distinctive blue Identity Tag (IDT) and issued uniforms, it would seem that there are more of them than Actuals and Alternates.

The Empire has used the combined power of the Synthetics to maintain the control and stability of their vast dominions for centuries, and have ensured that not a single planet goes without them. These are, of course, the famed MOSO (Military-Operational Synthetic Organics), the fighting dogs of the Empire.

Having gained an infamous reputation for the sheer brutal, unnerving violence they inflict upon groups trying to uproot the Empire's control, the MOSO's presence in any area brings about sheer terror in the locals. When the MOSO are present, there is going to be blood-shed, of that there is little doubt, and people have grown to loath and fear them for it.

They are, of course, not the only kind of Synthetics. Since their invention, they have branched into many alternate categories, from security to workers to "companions."

Of the security kind, you will see many. Patrolling with the fewer MOSO, the PSO (Policing Synthetic Organics) maintain the order in the streets, giving the Actuals and Alternates the security they desire when going about their day-to-day business.

Less advanced than their MOSO cousins, the PSO are equipped with only the barest of weaponary, and are ordered to use it only under the most extreme of circumstances.
