Jordan Lahn (jwlahn) | 18 comments My favourite series was the X-Wing series. Apart from introducing Corran Horn, it isn't hugely important to the larger canon, but it's just fun!

Deeptanshu | 42 comments The Xwing series is indeed quite entertaining though I preferred the latter books that focus on Wraith Squadron more than the Corran Horn stuff.

Kyle (emperor799) | 80 comments I would suggest hitting the highlights of the Bantam Spectra era trilogies before heading into any of the Del Rey series, and I'd hit them in either release order or in-universe order.

They are: Thrawn & Jedi Academy which you've read, plus Corellian & Black Fleet, and finally the Hand of Thrawn Duology as you prepare to switch over to Del Rey.

As mentioned by the others, this is also a good time to hit the X-Wing series if you're up for lots of space combat in text form. And anytime you need a break, read some short fiction from the Tales compendiums. There are a lot of good backstories in there, especially the Zahn ones.

This will mean you're filling out the OT to New Republic eras pretty well, so you might as well hit Shadows of the Empire, Tatooine Ghost, and all the new Del Rey stuff that takes place back then.

I honestly wouldn't bother with the single-volume Bantam novels other than maybe I, Jedi and The Courtship of Princess Leia as they will introduce characters that become very important later on. I find the rest of the Bantam singles to be among the least interesting of the SW novels.
