Judith Post | 622 comments I just finished The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman . Loved every single page until the Epilogue. Not as satisfying a wrap-up as I'd hoped for.

I was disappointed with it too.

message 160: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 622 comments I liked everything else. Forgot how FRIGHTENING Neil Gaiman can be. He can surprise me.

The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman

message 165: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 622 comments I love Alice Hoffman's writing, but read her novels with magic mixed into them. Haven't tried this book.

I liked it, I did but the end seemed really far away when the story changed to a second, third and then a fourth (briefly) POV!

message 167: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 622 comments Yikes! That's a lot of POVs, but guess it's an epic story with a lot of women involved. When I took Latin, I loved Greek and Roman myths and history, but boy, the Romans could be NOT VERY NICE. But then, no one was very nice back then.

Judith Post | 622 comments Starting Magic Breaks (Kate Daniels, #7) by Ilona Andrews . Smaller print, more pages. It's going to take me a while, but so far, it's really GOOD.

what did you think? its being made into a movie too!

:) This book is the big finale for the main plot, but she wrote that she's going to write 3 more after this one. That should be interesting.

I really liked it. My only problem was the scientific terminology that was a little over my head. I felt like I walked into a college lecture I didn't sign-up for. Once I got pass that it was quite interesting.

I still need to read that one.

Teen Titans Go! Demo by J. Torres

message 181: by Leigh (new)

Leigh | 697 comments The Undoing (Call of Crows, #2) by Shelly Laurenston and of course First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones

message 182: by Judith (new)

Judith Post | 622 comments I just finished A Banquet of Consequences (Inspector Lynley, #19) by Elizabeth George . Took me a while to read. It's LONG and I love her language, so savored every word. Now I'm trying a shorter mystery, Hush Puppy (Melanie Travis, #6) by Laurien Berenson . Lots of information about dog shows and poodles. Maybe too much for me:) But good characters.

It was. I love historical romance!

Judith Post | 622 comments I love the Georgette Heyer type Regency. My friend, Julia Donner, writes in that period, and I love her stuff. She has some sizzling sex, though. Heyer never had that:)

Funnily enough, I miss it when I read other Regency novels but I never missed it while reading Heyer.

I will have to check both of them out. This was my first Jennifer Ashley book. I enjoy Eloisa James, Sabrina Jeffries, Madeline Hunter,
Julia Quinn and Amanda Quick.

Judith Post | 622 comments We were too young and innocent to miss it when we read Heyer:) I'm always impressed with how much you've read, Leigh! You, too, Midu. That's why you're the top 1% in reviews.

That would have been true, had I started missing it when I read Heyer now.

Reading is a new found love. A friend insisted I read Twilight and that started it.
