Would love to have it... Sounds yummy! Thank you! I have a great pumpkin pie recipe....it is about 60 or 70 years old. My mom and grandma used to make it. My mom is 94. Can easily post it, if you want. Thanks for visiting!

It's even better the next day when the sugar and plum juices soak into the sponge.

Really good also when its just made, and hot with some freshly whipped cream.

I don't usually eat sweet things , but i have to admit this one I do like. Along with my apple and wild blackberry crumble.

BattyKat (prosserkat) Oh, how'd you like The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt ? I liked it. I'm not into westerns, so this was different for me!

I haven't read it yet. It is in the TBR red covers group. I love westerns, so I am hopeful that I will like it. We can chat about it when I finish it. Thanks for visiting.

Laurel (goodreadscomboddy_l) | 621 comments It is so good to be back in my corner! I have been sick for more than a week with severe spring allergies and asthma. Didn't even read!!! Hope all is well with my friends here at All Sorts! Ready to tackle my big pile of May group and challenge reading.

Thank you. Because our spring here in Southern Ontario is late, everything has bloomed all at once, so pollen counts are exceptionally high, not good when you have asthma. Hope the worst is over...I love to garden, and it is hard not to be outside now that nice weather is finally here. Happy reading!

Asthma is so hard on people, especially in pollen season and in bad humidity. A friend of mine suffers from it.
I visited Ontario a few years back on a business trip. Toronto, to be exact. Had a great stay. Rode to the top of the C.N. Tower.
Summer is almost here! Happy reading to you, too!

Gradually getting better, thank you, but won't be 100% until the pollen is all gone. Have lots of reading to do, between group reads and challenges I'm doing. Here's what on my list for May: The Black Dahlia (L.A. Quartet, #1) by James Ellroy The Book Thief by Markus Zusak Scarlett by Alexandra Ripley 11 Days in December Christmas at the Bulge, 1944 by Stanley Weintraub The Secret Rescue An Untold Story of American Nurses and Medics Behind Nazi Lines by Cate Lineberry . And a couple more that I can't remember, right now. What are you reading?

I live about a 40 minute drive east of Toronto, on a good traffic day. The CN Tower has a new attraction. You can be attached to special harnesses and walk all around the outside edge of the tower, so there is nothing between you and the view, except your harness holding you on. There is also a Ripley's Aquarium being built at the base of the tower, beside the Rogers Centre, where the Toronto Blue Jays play. Maybe you can come back to Toronto sometime. It is only a 90 min. drive from Toronto to Niagara Falls, or Niagara on the Lake, with lots of fantastic wineries and fruit in the spring and summer.

I'll pass on the harness and walking around the edge of the tower. Heights and me do not agree.:) Love the Rogers Center. I often watch Blue Jays games that are aired from there.
I'd love to come back to Toronto and really get to know the city sometime. Niagra Falls sounds awesome!

I wouldn't mind the cave tour beneath the falls, Julia, and the ferry, but not walking around the top of the C.N. Tower with only a harness.

I put Gone With the Wind on my TBR list after reading The End of Your Life Book Club last month. Also, I'm somewhat obsessed with history (and WWII) at the moment - and by that, it really only means I keep adding books to read about the war(s). So, I've also just added 11 Days in December. :) I'll get to it eventually. Here's what I'm working on at the moment:
Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton A Time to Kill by John Grisham
So far, I'm enjoying them all. Depending on the moment, I choose one to open up and continue.

Thanks, Kyle. There are lots more posted in my corner. I have a post with WW2 fiction and nonfiction, fun books with "food of some sort" in the title for fun & light reads, and books I am collecting with red covers, both already read, and TBR. Pun intended. I am interested in cover art and the use of colour to sell books. A lot of books have red covers, while very few have green ones. My books for my Road Trip USA and Cross Canada Challenges are in those group folders. I think there is also a post for series I like to read. Please browse. I love to talk about books! I also have a post of all the Ed McBain books I have read. I want to read them all. I am really a nerd at heart!

Well, I am doing a lot of challenges, and some of them are like a treasure hunt where you match a book with specific criteria . It takes a long time to find a book that fits, and then when I needed it, I was forgetting what it was. So, I decided to get organized. Plus, I get a kick out of seeing all those covers! I sent a GR friend all of the Christmas mysteries because he collects them. It was an early gift.

I collected resources for so long while teaching-I guess old habits die hard BUT it is FUN! Now I have to choose which ones I want to add to my TBR LIST.
