Cora Tea Party Princess (corazie) | 36 comments The Parasol Protectorate is easily one of my favourite book series. I have read it time and again and have only praise for it.

Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger Blameless (Parasol Protectorate, #3) by Gail Carriger Heartless (Parasol Protectorate, #4) by Gail Carriger Timeless (Parasol Protectorate, #5) by Gail Carriger

These books mix historical fact with quirky steampunk technology and supernatural characters and it makes for a wonderful read.

Who is your favourite character?

I love Alexia, how stubborn and headstrong she is and I love Conall and how he calls her "wife" and how passionate their relationship is.
And Lord Akeldama. Wow. There is a flamboyant character. He needs some books of his own!

Though of course, you can't forget dear Ivy's selection of exquisitely horrible hats :-p

I think Professor Lyall might actually be my favourite character. (Though I really do like Conall and Alexia as well hehe)

I'm currently on "Heartless" and I'm quite enjoying all the husband/wife bickering as per usual. What really caught me though in the first book was the sarcasm and the writing style. That in combination with the plotline, the interesting characters and the wonderful setting kept me reading.

I do have to admit though that whenever I finish one of the books, I have to read something later as Carriger's style is a bit heavy sometimes. But that might just be me.

The world is just too good to pass up though! Which is why I picked "Soulless" up in the first place :-)
