Rebecca Martin | 11 comments Hi all :) I just recently joined this group and I am currently trying to make a summer reading list. Lately I have been sticking with only reading one genre of books, and most of the books I hve been readin are pretty identical in form and format, with interchangeable characters. Don't get me wrong, they are fun to read, but now that spring classes are coming to a close, I'm looking for some books that are a little more mentally stimulating. So if you guys could post an books you feel ate must-reads, blew your mind, challenging but fun, anything along those lines, I would really appreciate it :) thanks!

The Shore of Women
Just two that I really enjoyed and came to mind first.

Anna | 3 comments Youth in Revolt by C.D. Payne

Upstate by Kalisha Buckhanon

These are the first two that come to mind. I'm not sure what genre you've already been reading, but these were both good. Youth in Revolt is fun, Upstate is kind of sad, but they were both good I thought.

Lit Bug If you like non-fiction, here is the best one I've ever-ever read. Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi, published in 2005. Please click and check out the story of Nafisi's memoir, I highly recommend it.

Patricia Hargraves | 94 comments The Spellman Files and The Flavia de Luce Mystery Series are both good in Mystery Genre. The Outlander Series and anything by James Michener is good Historical Fiction. All Souls Trilogy and Fever are good in Fantasy/Paranormal Genre. Anything by Sophie Kinsella, Meg Cabot, Alice Clayton, and T.E. Sivec in Humor/Contemp. Romance is good.

Ragtime
The Sparrow

All of these are incredible reads and should interest your love for history and non-fiction. They all have some adult parts that aren't suitable for children or anyone too quesy. I hope you read them and enjoy!

N | 276 comments when I'm stuck in a reading rut I go to a second hand book store. You have to really root around as generally the boxs are pilled high, shelves groaning and nothing remotely in order! That's how I discovered loads of books I wouldn't have bothered to read the synopsis of.
