Jason Crawford | 4 comments The nearest horror writer is arguably Jack Ketchum, as his stories are mainly character driven too

Eric | 30 comments Bentley Little, maybe (if you prefer the supernatural).

Reese Copeland (nonfreak) | 91 comments I'm thinking Edward Lee.

Have not read this yet, but it looks and sounds like it would be similar. Reviews seem to hint at that as well

Robert Krone | 76 comments You're welcome, hope you enjoy it. I will likely be reading this one soon myself as it has been calling my name ever since getting a good price on a hardcover limited edition copy. Haven't read anything from William Ollie before, but a couple of his titles interest me.

Eric | 30 comments Actually, Ray Garton (now that you mentioned him) comes pretty close. Both Garton and Laymon are known for their promiscuously attired characters in stories with a number of, shall I say, prurient situations.

Brian J | 11 comments Steve Gerlach and Brian Keene (especially Castaways and his other books that rip off the Beast House Trilogy).

Jeff | 1131 comments Definitely Edward Lee as well as possibly John Everson.

Bryan Smith is most Laymon like author I've read. I'd say Ray Garton, Edward Lee, Brian Keene and Iain Rob Wright are all quite similar too.

Mehmet | 1241 comments I believe Laymon has his own unique style. I always go through a phase where i feel like reading his books, Authors that i enjoy, and have seeked if i cannot find anymore of his books are Bentley little, jack ketchum and Shaun hutson. I recently started my first Ed Lee book, who has a more hardcore twist to his narrative. If you enjoy Laymon worth giving him a chance.
