Liz | 196 comments I read this book last month. I'm excited to see what others thought of it, particularly how Death narrates the story.

Terry ~ Huntress of Erudition This book is one of my all time favorites: it's not just YA fiction - although it should be required reading in school, my son and my niece read it a while ago, I read it about 2 months ago and ordered my mother and sister to put it on their kindles. If you don't love this book, you have no heart!!!
The characters are so well developed and it is written without schmaltzy sympathy for them, but at the same time, so heart rending, I actually cried for days after reading it. I can hardly see to post this using my mobile phone because of the tears in my eyes. I heard there is a movie being made from this book - omg, I will be a basket case at the theater.......

CatWrangler | 8 comments I'm delighted with Death as narrator, too. I just started reading a couple of days ago and stopped because I'm reading other books, too, as usual. But crying? I haven't cried for ages over a book. I definitely need one:-). So, I'm going back to the Book Thief. It will be one of my reads for today.

Terry ~ Huntress of Erudition The crying part didn't really hit me until the very end, it was kind of like the cumulation of everything that happened in the book.

CatWrangler | 8 comments I see. I know the feeling. I didn't think the book was that good.

Michael (lovechild) | 149 comments The first time I read this I picture death much like Neil Gaiman from his Sandman comics. I like how there and here Death just is. Death is not a boogie man out to get you but rather has a job and Takes those at the end where they believe they go.

"You get what everyone gets a lifetime. Nothing more, nothing less. - Death"

Pink I just finished this book. I have mixed feelings about it, as I felt that it was a little dragged out in the middle and I couldn't help but compare it to Anne Frank's Diary, which I've recently read. Altogether I enjoyed it though and I'm glad to have finished this one for May.

BattyKat (prosserkat) I finished this for a buddy read, and I loved it. It ended on a happy note and I felt good about it.

Micheal, interesting! I never pictured BT Death as a woman! But then again, Neil Gaiman is a genius, so... :)
