Lol... I don't always get time to read so when I do, I tend to go a little crazy!

Thanks for showing me the thread, It's a lot easier than trying to keep track on paper. I lost my library diary last week, and now I can't remember off hand what I've read...

Yes, it's convenient this way, keeping it all in one place prevents me from forgetting a challenge or two...

And we're all crazy about reading here, who else would sign up for all the Read the Month, Read your name... on top of monthly challenges? It's nuts! (I like nuts tough)

It's an expensive hobby, I'm just glad I have a few hundred books waiting to be read, before joining here I had trouble deciding where to start. Now my only problem is starting so many different series and wanting to finish them all!

Oh, I hear you! Series are vile and addicting; I read one book and then I just Have.To.Get.My.Hands.On.All.The.Rest! It's nothing like a gambling habit, but some money gets spent, no doubt.

I was struggling 'til I remembered good old Betsy! And if they are anything like the first one they can be read really quick! It's the Y books that are getting to me now. I peeked at some of the a-z lists but no inspiration stuck. How are you getting on?

I'm getting by, but it's all very forced with the Ys (Qs aren't that hot either...) But yes, checking out the az lists is a good idea!

I'm a huge Dean Koontz fan, especially his older stuff. Have you read the Sue Grafton one's? I have them all siting waiting patiently to be read and this challenge seems like the perfect opportunity. I was going to swap half of them out for the In Death books by JD Robb if I couldn't get into them.

It was more in reference to your list, LOL. I've read few of Koontz books (they never fail to give me chills) but nothing from Sue Grafton... Hope it works out for you, it should, because she's quite popular, so it cannot be that bad...

I started on Koontz books a little earlier than i probably should, my Dad used to sneak them to me when my Mum was out, along with Richard Laymon & Stephen King. Although I can't watch horror movie's now... then again I was only 12!

I was ~15 when I got my hand on my first Koontz, and I was a little shocked, hooked too, but shocked big time. What can I say, I was a sheltered little girl... But at 12?! Your dad must be a character...

He really was, I think it had a lot to do with the fact he kept finding makeshift bookmarks in them and knew I was doing it anyway. He kept some back til I was older though. I have severe clown fear from sneaking IT to read.

Yeah, scary books can make a big impression... I just added It to my TBR, so you're saying I should get ready for some major nail biting, huh...

I HATE CLOWNS! It's really bad. The book was amazing but I'm still scarred... 16yrs later! lol.
I'm sure you'll be fine but then Koontz was tame compared to this, if you like being scared try Richard Laymon. I leant a book to a friend and she had to sleep with the light on for a while afterwards. She's a bit more careful now when accepting books.

Hymmm I'm a coward and I get scared easily, but now I'm intrigued so I'll give him a try - thanks!

When I was sorting my books I noticed that a few of my unread series had titles that would work together in a month. I'm trying to spread them out a bit and make them last... until I find some more books to catch my eye! I cheated with the U's - It's one series spread out a bit.

In May I tried not to double up challenge books, this month I'm doubling up to see which I prefer!

Whichever works for you! I find myself using the same books over and over for different challenges. But that's just me. I cannot help but sing up for all those challenges when I do not read all that much. Not really. Eh.

I crosslist or double up as much as possible. lol Trying to reduce the number of books I'm suppose to read since I sign up for them all. I still want to read books that don't fit on any list, so this leaves me room. Supposidly. lol

There are so many good challenges, I don't want to not do them either.

Exactly! I've read 25 books so far and most of them where challenge books... I felt that I had no time for "fun books" or the other long term challenges. I enjoyed all the books though, only one got two stars, so I can't complain.

I've been a little creative at times to get books to fit certain categories. That way I can get non-romance books, and sometimes even non-fiction to count towards challenges. I've got Dr Who books I thought about reading for the "doctor" in Men We Love. I'm using Indiana Jones for the "teacher" as he's a college professor. I've got a Harry Potter book (Goblet of Fire) counting as my sports book. We'd discussed that a historical warrior would work for athelete as well. I felt like I was cheating when I picked a book off my own shelves as my birthday is this month for the May B-Day book. I've found a novella to fit a category too, reducing my overall page count (since the HP book is 734 pages!).

I didn't pick up a book for about 10 days at the start of the month, wasn't well. It was hard enough finding the energy to look after my boys!

We were bored in work today, so we phoned Waterstones to confirm the release date for Finger Lickin' Fifteen and find out how much it was going to be. The girl was really nice,, she put us on hold for a minute then came back on the line and told us it was Tues but she would put them away for us if we wanted it earlier. Needless to say I popped my jacket on and approx 6 minutes later I had two copies in my hand! To top it off we got four pound off the price too.

Today was a happy day! I got my Ranger fix, nearly wet myself laughing a few times... shame about the ending, not that I didn't see it coming but... I can dream!
