Hey y'all. I don't know if you've been experiencing any difficulties with the old Currently Reading thread, but lately, I'm finding that no matter what I do, when I click on the new posts, I'm brought back to the same old page. So I'm going to start a fresh Currently Reading Thread. For your info, the old thread will still be there.. here is the link to it..http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/3.... I'm going to freeze it for further posts however. Use this thread for the same purpose; share your thoughts about your current reads; whether you liked or not, etc..

l thought I was going to have to replace my tablet. So I'm glad the problem isn't on my end.

I'm currently reading Gone by Michael Grant on my tablet. The story is pretty good, but you have to get past all the spelling errors.
I'm also reading Slice by William Patterson in paperback. This book is really good so far.

Just finished Follow Her Home by Steph Cha, and Finding Nouf by Zoë Ferraris. Both wonderful books, but very different. FHH is set in Los Angeles, and is more of a noir style where most protagonists are twenty-something, thus fast-paced and modern, and FN is set in Saudi Arabia, and it starts out pretty slow. Both talk heavily about cultures of each settings and people (in case of FHH, Korean-American immigrants), but in very different styles. Enjoyed both very much.

Will read Zoe Ferrari's next book - City of Veils now. =)

Loved all of these. Zoe Ferraris is one of my favorites.

That's the only one of Nesbo's stories I've read so far, Kalena. I've got others on my shelf to read; looking forward to doing so.

I was having the same problem Bill..I had commented in the Feedback group, and there were a number of groups experiencing the same issue, so I think it's GRs problem. But thanks for starting the new thread, hopefully we'll be able to follow along properly now:)

70% through a pre-pub copy of Loyalty by Ingrid Thoft. A decent piece of crime fiction.

It was the only thread that I seemed to be consistently having a problem with, Brenda.. Fingers crossed with this one..

I have just finished Deep Sleep by Frances Fyfield. I would have liked a little less of the character study and a stronger focus on mystery. However, the writing is good and Julian Glover’s narration made it an enjoyable experience.

All good so far on the new thread, just finished and wondering what to start next...

I am making my way through Karin Slaughter's Grant County Series. I'm currently on book 3, A Faint Cold Fear and so far, I'm really enjoying it. It's a light read with pretty interesting characters. I can't wait to finish this up so I can then go on to her Will Trent series!

trying to decide whether to read From Doon With Death or And When She Was Good- haven't read either of these authors before

I'm reading The Big Cat Nap: The 20th Anniversary Mrs. Murphy Mystery by Rita Mae Brown, a Sneaky Pie Brown (cat) mystery. The early books in the series were good and then they went downhill. I keep hoping Brown will get back to her best style but that hasn't happened with this book. I'm seriously thinking of giving up on the series altogether. :(

I enjoyed reading this after a long absence from reading any of his books. No surprises in format; still entertaining. Not sure what I plan to read next, I have a lot on my bookshelf to consider.

I have just finished "The Man Who Forgot How To Read" .

Howard Engel is a local (to me) author who's series of Benny Cooperman mysteries were among the inspirations for my own thriller. After suffering a stroke he found that although he could write, he had lost the ability to read. I think this must be akin to Beethoven going deaf - absolutely devastating!

It is a short book, but gives plenty of insight as to how he somewhat recovered from this (adapted to it might be a better phrase). In telling the story, Engel also provides an insight on his creative process, then and now, which was of interest to me as a writer.

I may get a chance to meet Howard Engel, this Fall. :)

I just finished the newest Women's Murder Club book, , 4 stars. Starting today. I hope I like the shorter stories as well as the rest of Grafton's Kinsey Millhone series. I usually don't care for short stories all that much but I'm a big fan of Grafton.

Just finished "The Hit" by David Baldacci. One of his best. Current book is "The devotion of Suspect X" which was recommended on this list.

I've decided to read The Morganville Vampires Book Thirteen: Bitter Blood - Rachel Caine.

Just finished The Boy in the Suitcase. It's yet another entry in the growing catalog of Scandinoir coming to these shores, and in many ways fits the general pattern: a socially maladapted protagonist, evil doings involving underage victims, societal rot, Eastern European villains, heat waves. That its central figure isn’t a police detective doesn’t move it very far out of the middle of this particular stream.

I'm currently reading it is pretty good and interesting so far. Set between the world wars, in Berlin, when the Nazis were coming into power. Hannah Vogel, a journalist, finds her brother on a murder board and tries to sleuth what has happened to him.

I love the Andy Carpenter series! It's mystery mixed with humor. Can't wait for the next one to come out.

I just finished Gone by Michael Grant and starting Before I Go To Sleep.

I finished The Book of Lies by Brad Meltzer. It was my first book by Meltzer and I will read more books from him for sure. I'm currently reading The Hit by David Baldacci

I have a lot of free books on my iPad for those emergencies when I don't have a real book with me. So I started Run RUN by Blake Crouch while riding in my car. I dislike reading an ebook, would much rather have a "real" book with me, so I found it hard to follow and I'm not really enjoying it. Of course, I picked up a different book at home and will finish the ebook another time.

I've enjoyed the Benny Cooperman books I've read. CBC also did some TV movies based on some of the books, with Saul Rubinek playing the role of Benny and doing a great job. The Suicide Murders and Murder Sees the light specifically.

Starting The Bookman's Tale: A Novel of Obsession and think I am going to love it.

I'm reading the Sonoma Square Murder Mystery by R. Digitale. So far, so good =)

I finished Silken Prey, Live by Night, 14 and Dead Ever After over the weekend. I'm not sure what i'll work on next. I guess i'll wait and see what the group reads are and then decide.
