The summer starts on June 21st so this is a great time for a summer challenge.

This challenge starts on July 1st,2013 and ends on August 31st, 2013!

Summer is about traveling and having fun so this challenge has a lot to do with that. Choose a book for each of these categories:
1. Book that takes place in North America
2. Book that takes place in South America
3. Book that takes place in Europe
4. Book that takes place in Asia
5. Book that takes place in Africa
6. Book that takes place in Australia/New Zealand
7. Book that takes place on an island (this island can be anywhere)
8....you can add any book you read over the summer to this challenge and it doesn't have to be within these categories, but you should try to read books within the categories so that it's more fun!

This is a great way to "travel" if you aren't able to actually travel. But you can learn a lot about the culture, people and nature from books. I hope everyone enjoys this challenge. Maybe you guys will even find a place that you want to visit in real life! :)

When you participate in this challenge, leave a comment below and tell us what books you have chosen and leave the links to those books. You can add books as you read and just edit the original comment (to edit a comment, click on EDIT on your original comment).
You can tell us your thoughts about the books, but it isn't mandatory.

Update your progress as you read(for example: 5/7 read).

It is okay if you don't finish this challenge on time. It is supposed to be about the fun of challenging yourself!

Rebecca I've been trying to finish another challenge and really haven't had the time for this one, unfortunatly, but I wish that I had been able to participate. My biggest problem was I couldn't find any books that would work well for both of my challenges.

message 28: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca We went to Bennington Vermont and also visited North Adams Massachusetts. My sister, Al and I go out to this part of the country every year. My father's side of the family helped to start many of the old mills in North Adams many many years ago. A man named Albert Houghton was the first mayor of North Adams. He was my great great great great great grandfather. I believe that I have enough great's on there!?!
