Tegan (joggiwagga) | 5 comments I've read Dracula before, and I wasn't exactly enamored with it. However that was years ago so I read it again for this class. I am still less than enamored with the book, I find it rather pedantic and dragging.

There are interesting aspects to the book, including discussions of reliability of the author and if the letter/journal style of storytelling was stretched in the amount of detail contained.

I had trouble settling on a topic for the my mini-essay. It is very difficult for me to separate the original text from all of the interpretations since. To me the 'horror' in the story comes from knowing what the narrators have not yet pieced together. Some of that I believe still stands without being aware of any more than teaser text of the story.

Amber | 1 comments I liked Dracula, but I agree it does drag a bit. Did anyone else feel really impatient for Van Helsing to just tell everyone what was going on? It seemed like it took forever for him to just say it.

Louise Taylor | 24 comments I also thought it dragged. I also hated everyone repeating how wonderful, vituous, pure etc Mia is.

Tegan (joggiwagga) | 5 comments My Dracula essay is here:

I was surprised to get over a 4 on it, which I do mention before the essay in the blog post.

I hadn't thought to include the peer feedback and ratings in my posts like you did, Louise. I'm considering if I want to imitate now.
