Vicki Tyley (vickityley) | 1732 comments Hi all,

I write fast-paced mystery and suspense novels in contemporary Australian settings. All my books are quick, easy reads with no gratuitous sex or violence the type of books I enjoy as a reader. However, my characters occasionally swear.

My books are all standalones, but in order published:

Thin Blood Sleight Malice Brittle Shadows Fatal Liaison Bitter Nothings

THIN BLOOD: Ten years after two juries fail to convict a stockbroker of the murder of his missing wife, retrenched journalist Jacinta Deller befriends the stockbroker’s new wife, the victim’s sister.

(Thin Blood is a #1 bestselling Kindle mystery and was named a )

SLEIGHT MALICE: When a badly charred body is discovered in the remains of her best friend’s home, Desley James is devastated. Except the body is male and her friend is missing.

BRITTLE SHADOWS: Two months after finding her fiancé’s naked corpse hanging from a wardrobe rail in their apartment, Jemma Dalton’s sister takes her own life, leaving Jemma to probe the dark shadows of her sister’s life.

FATAL LIAISON: The lives of two strangers, Greg Jenkins and Megan Brighton, become inextricably entangled when they each sign up for a dinner dating agency. But Greg's reason for joining has nothing to do with looking for love.

BITTER NOTHINGS: A woman and her two children are murdered in their beds, the father the prime suspect until he turns up dead on an isolated bush track.

My short mystery TWO BIRDS is currently FREE and will give you a taste of my writing style and voice:

The inspiration for each of my stories comes from news articles and true crime cases, to which I then apply series of what-ifs. By the time I’ve finished, the news item is so bent out of shape, it’s unlikely anyone would recognize the true crime that sparked it.

Thanks for taking the time to learn about my work. I’m now off to catch up with the new threads. Take care and stay warm (frost here this morning!).

Cheers
Vicki

P.S. confession: I joined this group back in 2010, participated for a short while, and then promptly got sidetracked with my writing and reverted to lurker status. Many thanks to Brenda for the prompt. :)

Oh that short...ok excellent I will slip it in between reads ;D I'm sure I will enjoy it, I used to love reading the short stories in the readers digest many years ago during my lunch breaks. I can't ever remember a bad one, regardless of genre...only they always left me wanting more lol! That's why I usually choose tomes!
Thanks again Vickie.

Vicki Tyley (vickityley) | 1732 comments I only noticed today that Amazon/Audible have the unabridged audio version of Thin Blood (narrated by Basil Sands) on sale for $2.99, which for an audio book is a bargain price. If you enjoy listening to books, check out the sample.

Great news Vicki!

message 50: by Vicki (new)

Vicki Tyley (vickityley) | 1732 comments I don't have any control over my audio book, so I have no idea how long it's been on special, or how much longer it will be. Seems silly to have an audio book cheaper than the Kindle version.
