Colfer was also commissioned to write the sixth book in the Hitchhiker's series, which I personally liked very much.

Sometimes if something's so popular i avoid it but im going to also read Harry Potter now after being constantly bickered by my nephews.

I must have read H2G2 about 4 times? And everytime I discover something new, a joke that I didn't get the first or the second time. It actually gets Better as you re-read it.
For me, H2G2 is the bestest book ever written and Douglas Adams, a writer par excellence. He even wrote Doctor Who episodes! I mean, how much cooler and awesomer could he have been.
It's such a shame we lost him so early in his life.

You know, we should perhaps deviate just a tad and consider the Dirk Gently series for group reading sometime in the near future. I would really look forward to the viewpoints of the other group members with regard to the writing and the humour.

I Agree with the others he was an interesting man. Neil Gaiman's biography on him is also a good read.

You left out head-writer during some of the best Tom Baker era Dr. Who serials.
