Hello dear book lovers! I am so happy to be here! I know most of you but for those who don't know me, I'm Hales and I live in Northamptonshire, I studied in Sheffield and I miss the North. I will read anything that I can get my hands on and as we've discussed in the past I cannot go into the library without coming home with armfuls.

I'm Meran, from Perks, hanging out in the Portland, Oregon area of the US.
I'll see if I can get access to those two first books. I've seen part of Edwin Drood (love Dickens, except for one) and am aware it was unfinished. Big mystery!

Im Violeta i live in chicago, I am a youth worker and special education teacher, I love reading although sometimes I dont make much time to do it, I also love being part of these communities I might not participate much commenting but I am an avid reader of the posts in the group, thank you for doing this i very much appreciate it!

Hi to Karlos, Gemma Dhanaraj, Elite, Diana S, Chimney (Kim), Barbara, Elisa, Katy, Denise, Stacy, Hales, Sophie, Meran, Violeta, Connie!
I was at my favourite swimming pool yesterday afternoon and I've seen so many new/old friends here in 12 hours.
I'm glad to see that what we felt was right: we would miss each other too much!!!

I am Chiara, I'm Italian but I live in Berlin - Germany with my husband, my younger son and (as soon as we move) as many cats as I can sneak into house without The Man to see :)
My favourite books are novels of any kind, but sometimes I like to challenge my brains with something different.

I love reading good mystery-thrillers or humor like PG Wodehouse or classics. My favourite authors include Agatha christie, conan doyle, colin dexter, alexander mcall smith, Jane austen, PG wodehouse, Henry cecil..
Looking forward to exploring more books here!

I'm Claire from Brighton,in the UK, I live here with my husband and son and I'm a librarian. I read as much as I can (and always have), mainly fiction but also history, and will be here when I can but may go quiet now and then as there don't seem to be enough hours in the day for all the things I'd like to do!
I'm looking forward to some interesting bookish conversations.
Thanks to Shirley for the invite.

@Meran, I often got that feeling in Perks too - that I was the only American in a group of Brits - but actually it was pretty international ;) I live in Massachusetts USA, about 25 miles west of Boston.
@Connie - I lived in Georgia for about 12 years although I am a Mass. native. Still miss some things about the South, especially the springtime...
@Stacy - I went to grad school at UCLA & California is where I developed my liking for hiking. So many wonderful National Parks in the West!

Nice to see you here Maryann! Welcome:)

Thanks Rowena!
Welcome back Maryann - I know that with kids around is not always easy to read or go to internet (but on the other hand when they've grown and give you mor space it means that you're old!!!!), but starting of school helps!!!!!

Since you like classics, what do you think of coming along with me in my reading the last novel of Dickens?"
I would accompany Laura, but I already have that book lined up for a readalong with Kirsty in December :) We're doing 'Hard Times' next month!
