So I have a copy of 'A Swiftly Tilting Planet". I want to read it, but I haven't read any of the other books in the series. I don't want to go and spend money on the other books, plus this one seems very interesting.

Does it matter if I haven't read the other books in the series? Can I read it as a stand-alone?

I would read the others first. It will help with the characters and give you a better foundation for the story. Awesome books! Enjoy!
