I just noticed that "Letters to Katie" by Kathleen Fuller is the 3rd book in the series. I'm over a 100 pages into the book. Are the first two linked to this book? Or would it be ok to finish this up and then go and read the other two in the series? I can't stand to read books out of order. Also there is The Middlefield Families..should I have read this first?

I would probably have read the Hearts of Middlefield series first because I'm looking at this as a spin-off series. It might have been better to have Treasuring Emma and Faithful to Laura first because those characters return in the third book.

I read the first two books in that series without reading Hearts of Middlefield and I wasn't confused. I haven't read Letters to Katie, but unless you're feeling confused or like you're missing some essential details, I say keep reading! There are plenty of Amish books that are part of a series but contain enough details to be read as a standalone. :)
