Goal: 5 or 6 or more! You decide.

October is the beginning of the holiday season, so, once again, the Mods have decided to make it easy on our members and repeat this challenge. We know you've started lots of new series this year and you may not have had the chance to read more. So, this month the only requirement to complete this challenge is that the book you read must be numbered 2 or higher.

As always, you may have two (2) "Reader's Choice" books.

Example:

I am new to this group and I am pretty new to good reads. I have a few questions. I was going to try and jump right in with the October 2013 series catch up challenge but I am having trouble figuring out how to do it. I read the instructions on how to join a challenge. I don't see the challenge on the home page.
Do I need to join the 2013 book count challenge first? Wasn't sure if it was to late for that. Thanks in advance. I am excited to jump in.

Yea I read that but I thought you had to join in some way by creating a shelf and how many books you are going to read. I can't find where to do this. I've never done this before. So I just list the books in a comment?

Hi Jamie! First of all, welcome and love that you're jumping right in!!! That great! You don't need to join the 2013 Book Count Challenge first to join the October 2013 challenge, they're two different challenges, with this one being a little more interactive than the Book Count one...

For this challenge, you keep track of what you're reading in a series here in this thread by posting your progress in a comment as you go. Using the edit link at the bottom of your past comments and then copying and pasting into a new comment makes this really easy. (Lisa Kay would have a "how to..." Thread on this in the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ topic. Can someone else please provide a link, I'm on my phone)

As for the Book count challenge, you first need to set up a shelf that you'll use for the books you've read or will read this year only. I've called mine 2013, and just add all books finished this year to that shelf. Then when you click on the 2013 Book Count challenge banner on the homepage, you add that shelf and goodreads will automatically add all the books you've added to that shelf to our group total.

The little blue dot is will always first default to link unless you click on cover.
