Ken Grace | 3 comments Hi,

I am looking for beta readers for my completed novel Blood Prize.

The novel is an action adventure story with some religious and science fiction themes. The story's protagonist is Tom Fox; a young man who must locate the Prize; an alien technology that has held the world captive for decades and prevent it falling into the wrong hands.

I am looking for an honest appraisal of my work which differs from most other manuscripts in the following ways:

The story is written in third person narrative with eight to ten limited omniscient viewpoint characters who reveal their thoughts in the first person. There are also no identifiers or attributives in the manuscript, nor is there much in the way of past tense (little to no usage of the words had, would, were or was etc. This is a tool to keep the novel in the moment). Employing all of these strategies is not easy to pull off, so I would appreciate your comments.

I would also be grateful for your views (what works and what doesn’t) on the subjects listed below:

Grammar
Sentence Structure
Pacing and Progression
Sound and Voice
Word Usage
Whether the story works as a whole
Whether my characters are engaging
Whether my plots and subplots are successfully resolved
And any other possible problem you find relevant

The novel has yet to be proofread and edited; it is 100,000 words and contains adult themes, violence and some sexual references.

If you are interested please contact me at: [email protected]

Kind regards,

Ken

Harry Nelson | 26 comments Can I read the first chapter and give comments? Can't commit to the whole thing right now but sometimes the beginning will tell a lot.
