The How To's:

There will be a list of questions for the EOTM to answer about themselves. Each month there will be a challenge based on their answers. There's no limits to how many books you read for the challenge and you have been challenged to use your creativity for this one :)

So for example if the EOTM lives in Florida you could read a book set in Florida or you could read an author that has the same name as the EOTM, etc.

Duration:
1/1/14 - 1/31/14

Connie N.'s Bio:
1. What state/country do you currently live in?
Massachusetts, USA

2. What are your favorite hobbies?
Well, reading, of course. I also sing in a barbershop quartet.

3. What are you currently reading?
On Strike for Christmas by Sheila Roberts, which is a humorous chick-lit holiday book.

4. What book do you plan to read next?
Unzipped by Lois Greiman, a cozy mystery.

5. What are your five all time favorite books?
I don't think I can answer that--I'm very much a mood reader and rarely read anything that I don't like.

6. What is your favorite movie?
Forrest Gump. Tom Hanks is great in it, and I find it so heart-warming and genuine.

7. What are three adjectives that describe you?
Trust-worthy, patient, relaxed

8. What is your favorite thing about yourself?
My ability to see the big picture and not worry so much about the details. (My husband is the detail guy, so we make a great pair.

9. What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
Watering the plants, which is why I don't have any indoor plants.

10. What is the #1 most played song on your IPOD?
Again, I'm a mood listener, but I do like country. And, of course, I've been listening to holiday music for the past month or so.

11. What challenge or type of challenge is your favorite to participate in?
Spell-outs. I must be in dozens of them.

12. Name one book/author that you really can't stand.
No one specific, but I hate the horror genre.

13. What was the first book that you remember reading/being read?
Mr. Bear Squash-You-All-Flat by Morrell Gipson. It seems kind of politically incorrect nowadays.

14. What is your profession?
Office assistant

15. What type of books do you like reading most?
Chick-lit, romance, cozy mystery

16. Who are your top 5 favorite authors?
Nora Roberts, Robert B. Parker, Dick Francis, Robyn Carr, Julia Quinn

17. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
My grandfather. He died when I was young and I never got to know him, but he was progressive for his time.

18. Where's your favorite place to read?
In my living room recliner

19. If you were given $20 to spend on a book today, what book would you buy?
I'd probably try to find as many bargains on Amazon as I could.

20. If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?
I'm happy with it. Although the alternative name my parents had when I was born was Sally, and I kind of like that.

21. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
Pay off school loans!

22. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia

23. What was the last book that made you cry?
I think it was something by Luanne Rice.

24. If you were stranded on a desert island, what three books would you want to have with you?
I can't think of anything specific, but I'd probably want some kind of chick-lit to make me smile, a mystery to keep my mind active, and a how-to book to help me survive long enough to be rescued.

25. What's your preferred method of reading? i.e. paperback, Kindle, audio etc.
I borrow most books from the library, although I do also have a Kindle and use that frequently. But there's nothing like an actual print book.

BONUS: Tell us three things about yourself not already mentioned here.
1. I have 4 grown children.
2. My husband and I went parachuting a few times when we were first dating.
3. I'm a Diet Dr. Pepper addict.
