Well I managed to download an ebook copy of this, hopefully will start it tonight :) looking forward to it, this doesn't sound like my usual choice of books
Have reserved it at the library hopefully it won't take too long to come in
I really should get offline so I can go finish the book I'm currently reading lol. But Yep, whether I finish the other book or not I'm going to start this tomorrow :)
Which one? Our February book? Still no decision, if you go to the other thread, you should be able to see our suggestions :)

My husband is off to a friend's bachelor party tonight so I have the whole night to myself and what better would I do than reading a good book.
to the video in case any of you would like to have a listen while reading too.

That's fine. I actually downloaded a free epub of this book though. If I do a group read I usually get free epubs or not participate. We will have more notice for febs read too. :)

How are the rest of you doing with the book?
Excellent effort, I've only read about 2 pages. Im going to head up town and when I get home I plan on getting stick into the book :)
I'm waiting for a copy from the library as there were a couple of reserves before me

I just typed it into google plus free epub (or whatever type you use) has to search through a few to find it. That or I always check here. Sometimes I can get free downloads from goodreads
If you can't find it, let me know, I might be able to email it?
Im about 75 pages in, its a good read, if not a little strange. Im guessing things might become a bit clearer towards the end.

Exactly what I was thinking. I actually can't wait to pick it up again.
Even the way it's written is pretty effective, I noticed that I was starting to pull faces/cringe as I read. This was a great first group read

Hard to comment till everyone is up to date. There is one quote that I loved and am going to use it again.

Hope I am not holding you guys up.
dont worry re waiting for me to discuss it could take ages for my library copy to come in. in another group im in ppl just hide spoilers in their discussions using the (view spoiler) command so can opt not to read that bit if you dont want to yet - just a thought
sorry the command is < spoiler > then type the text here < / spoiler > just without the spaces

Don't stress, its a January read, plenty of time. And yes, just use the spoiler html if disclosing anything major. :)
Finished this book. I really enjoyed it, though it was so unlike anything I normally read. I feel like there was an underlying theme that is just out of my grasp. I'd love for anyone to share what they feel the theme of the book is.

Marjory, what was the quote you liked.
The one that sticks out in my mind is (view spoiler)

I like the book, although I don't know if I'd be able to read too much fantasy. I found that I had to re-read things after saying......wait, what?

(view spoiler)
I think that might explain a little of where the book comes from.
I really liked this book although I'm not exactly sure why I liked it so much. It wasn't as mind exploding as it could have been according to the praising words I've seen in reviews. And it wasn't SO good that I feel the urge to read over and over again. Yet still I loved it.
I've read fantasy books before and it's one of my favorite genres, but the books I've read are about Harry Potter and witches and wizards, or about Sookie Stackhouse and vampires and faries. This book was very different sort of fantasy compared with those, (view spoiler) , and I think it was better sort of fantasy in a way.
If I would read it again I would probably find a million new things I didn't see or realise this time around. Maybe I will read it again someday...
Just picked my copy up from the library hope to start reading it tomorrow

Definitely not my type of thing but I found it a pretty quick read so it wasn't too bad

Thanks for the encouragement to do so Marjory. When you say hidden meaning for me this book was about (view spoiler) I'd be interested in your thoughts
