Here's an A-Z Challenge with a twist! This challenge should give us all a good chance of completing it! There are four options to choose from, and you can do one on it's own (or more than one on their own), or combine as many as you want.

Example: You could do option 1 only, or option 1 and also option 3 separately. You could use info from the same book for both options.

Example: You could choose options 1 and 4 together. This means you could use the method or the weapon, or the first or last name of the sleuth. Each book can only be used for one letter. In your first post, state which option(s) you are using.

Option 1 - How was the victim killed? This can be general method (poisoned) or more specific weapon (digitalis oveerdose).

Option 2 - Where is the setting of the book? This can be the country, state, city, town, or the foreign equivalents.

Option 3 - Who was killed? Use the first or last name of the victim.

Option 4 - Who solved the crime? Use the first or last name of the sleuth.

This challenge will run from January 1 - December 31, 2014. You should set up your own topic in this folder to track your progress.

I hope this makes sense, but please ask if you have any questions! I'm sure I left out something :)

Is this an A-Z thing?

Oops, first thing left out :) Yes. I'll edit.

AngryGreyCat (angrygreycatreads) | 665 comments Option 1: arsenic (method)
Option 3: Anton
Option 4 Annie (First name of sleuth)

Is this right? (by the way Anton was nearly killed by the arsenic but survived - but that is the crime being investigated so I hope this is ok)

Hmmmm .... this is intriguing, but I've already committed to sooo many other challenges, I need to give this some thought.

I think I'm going to use Options 1 and 2 for my alphabet.

Looks like you've got the gist of it. If you're doing each option separately, you could use all of those, or choose one of them if you're doing a combination. That's too funny that all three started with the same letter.

I've edited the initial post to ask participants to set up their own topic in this folder. I hope you'll join in!

Marisa (moretta) | 421 comments I think I'll go with option 2 and option 4. In the beginning I'm going to mix both of them, but we'll see through the year how it evolves.

Karen (xkamx) | 570 comments What a great challenge (the author A-Z, too). I wish I was disciplined and had time enough to do it. As it is, I'm happy to pull another out of the box and read!

Good luck to all who enter!

That's the thing about this challenge. There are so many options, you can make it easier or harder.

I wonder if I could complete an A-Z just reading the way I read and what I read. Hmmm... May be worth a try!

Thanks for the push!

That's more or less what I did in 2013 until near the end of the year. I'm trying to be a little more organized this year :)
