Aimi (IamQueenBowtome) | 3 comments Hello all,

I have finished revising my manuscript as best as I could in my own capabilities.
My book is 75k words in length and loosely based on Alice in Wonderland story.

Here's a little background on my story:
My heroine is Alice. She gets chased by her mother's killers and jumps off a cliff into another world.

The alternate world is sort of set in a medieval era, so there are full of violence, battles, bloodshed etc. But unlike our world, this world has dragons, demons, and witches. So in order for Alice to survive in this world, she disguises herself as a male.

Alice tries to find her way back home but she ends up getting pulled into the political affairs, rebellions and a prophecy claiming that when the world is plunged with despair, a child will emerge from blood and death and he will reunite all kingdoms and bring peace.

^ that's the gist of it basically. Sorry, I'm so crap at writing a synopsis.

What I'm looking for:

Readers who can give me feedback on the overall story. This includes the pace, characterization, how interesting the story is and whether or not you would love to read more about it. This is the first book of a trilogy...hopefully. Basically, tell me if this story is worth selling or not.

I may be asking too much to proofread my work but if you spot mistakes, as in grammatical errors, typos and possible sentence structuring and syntax, I would be grateful if you can comment on it so I can improve it better.

Thanks guys!
I can provide the story in doc and pdf.

Angelique Daniels | 6 comments Hi Aimi,

I am in much the same boat as you. I have finished my fantasy fiction novel and am also in search of someone to give me their honest opinion.

I would love to read your story, it sounds very interesting.

Here is the Synopsis of my Fantasy Novel, The Dashwood Tales:
Since the War of the Ancients, the Realm has been torn into different lands where the Black Queen rules with fear, intimidation and destruction. It has been foretold that the Realm shall cone more become whole.
A young lady from the Land of Ezra, the Village of Elzea has terrifying, nightmarish dreams about people, places and things she’s never seen. Unbeknown to Andrea her parents were the rightful High Queen and King of the Realm, murdered by the Black Queen who took her brother. Throw in a royal betrothal to the handsome yet arrogant Elven Prince from the Land of Azalea when her heart belongs to a pheasant.
Will she rise to the challenges which Destiny has placed upon her shoulders, as she learns about her past, the secrets it holds and which decisions she will have to make not only for herself but for the entire Realm

If you would like I could read yours and you could read mine. Thanks I can also provide in doc or pdf format.

Aimi (IamQueenBowtome) | 3 comments that sounds like a good idea. I thought writing is hard, getting a feedback is harder!
Can I ask how many word count your story has?

My email is [email protected]

Angelique Daniels | 6 comments I know exactly what you mean. I thought I had everything all sorted but not yet. My word count is 80,789.
Here is my email as well [email protected]
When were you thinking of getting your novel published?

Aimi (IamQueenBowtome) | 3 comments i'll email you my pdf doc. if you can convert it to epub, that'll be great but I also accept pdf doc. My e-reader can open both.
My grammar is flawed but I can give feedback on the overall story. If you can see on my profile, I'm a veteran reader so I can point out any cliche remarks or the pace of the story.

I don't know about when yet. I'm keeping an eye out on the trend. Atm, it's the rise of contemporary and erotic fiction. Dystopia is kinda a dying breed and also fantasy. If I can't get mine traditionally published, then I'm going to wait until the right opportunity comes. I was recommended self pub by many authors themselves but if you don't write about romance and sex, then it'll get less audience.

Angelique Daniels | 6 comments I can give it a try, haven't had much luck with converting mine to epub. I am still learning.

Yeah I know what you mean, I have been watching it as well, just checking and waiting for the right moment. Will send it through shortly

Hello everyone. I thought I'd let you know about another group that can be of some use to you. "Indie Author Central" is a new group whose purpose is to provide everything indie authors need, including beta's that come to you. If you have a manuscript that you want to have a beta reader for, all you have to do is follow the instructions under the beta readers corner tab called betas and writers. You'll just need a brief description of your book and the first three pages. Our betas want to get a taste for the quality of your work before committing to the project. By showing the first three pages, they can make the decision to work with you or not, and you don't have to worry about any rejection emails after you've already sent the whole manuscript.

If your manuscript is already published and you need a few reviews, there is a place for that as well. We also do an indie book of the month, where we select an author out of the read to review program, and the group members read the book, promote the author, and have book discussion. Of authors are willing, there will also be a Q&A session.
We just started the group last week and no one has posted in the read to review section, so you won't be competing with hundreds of others, so hop on the opportunity before there is a lot of competition. Best of luck.
