Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11182 comments 30.4 - Sheila/Kathy G's task: A Springtime Stroll Through the World of Monopoly

This is a two book task. Pick 1 Book from the Springtime options and 1 Book from the Monopoly options.

Springtime

1) Read a book written by an author whose initials (middle name or initial excluded) can be found in any order in the word SPRINGTIME. Letters may only be used as many times as they appear (i.e., only I may be used twice).

2) Read a book with rain or an umbrella on the cover. (Post the cover)

3) Read a book with flowers (realistic or stylized) on the cover. One flower will do. (Post the cover).

Monopoly

1) Take a ride on the Reading Railroad and read a book with a train or train tracks on the cover. (Post cover.)

2) Do not pass GO and go the long way--- Read a book that is 500 pages or longer. Required: State how many pages your book is. NOTE: ebooks without print versions cannot be used for tasks requiring a specific number of pages. If you read an ebook or listen to an audiobook, use the page count for the mass market paperback if one exists. If there is no mass market paperback edition, use the paperback edition and if no paperback is available use the hardcover edition.

3) FREE PARKING SPACE- Read a book of your choice and thoroughly enjoy it! Optional: Tell us why you enjoyed your book!

Required: State which options you have chosen and post your cover if using a cover option. Happy Springtime!

Springtime Option 2 rain on cover Storm Front (Virgil Flowers, #7) by John Sandford . If you enlarge the cover rain drops are visible, I think.
Monopoly Option 1. Only Darkness by Danuta Reah (The girl is running down the tracks)

message 9: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments They both work Andy. I've got a question for you. I have read several of Sandford's Prey series but haven't read any of the Virgil Flowers series. How is it?

♞ Pat Gent | 786 comments Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline

Any chance I can count this one as the train, or does it have to be an entire train image?

message 24: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments Pat I realize from the title that it probably is a train but the actual cover looks like a door to me so I would have to say no. Sorry

Kathy G. | 1931 comments When it comes to hyphenated names, they start with the first letter. So this would be SG.

It would work for option 2) Read a book with rain or an umbrella on the cover. (Post the cover)

Enjoy

message 37: by Kim (new)

Kim (goodreadscomkimber) | 708 comments Would you consider this one for option 2? Technically, it's probably a parasol - is that close enough to an 'umbrella'?

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments I don't believe that children's books are approved for the 30 point tasks BC

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 4419 comments Sheila wrote: "I don't believe that children's books are approved for the 30 point tasks BC"

From the rules:

5. Books with the genre "childrens" or "kids" that are between 100 and 299 pages may only be used for 5, 10, and 15 point tasks unless they are excluded by Rule 4. Books with the genre “childrens or "kids" on their main page may ONLY be used for tasks above 15 points IF they are at least 300 pages long.

So ...

Wonder is a children's book, but over 300 pages ...

message 43: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 2221 comments Sorry you had to find that for me BC. In that case Wonder will be fine. Be sure and say it was approved when posting it. Enjoy
