I've always find ATC's an interesting bunch, in that they have an important job that's critical to safety, but they don't have a lot of 'control' if something goes bad.
It's interesting, given the kind of books he writes, that his chatting with Michener is what finally convinced him to take a shot.
That Michener business struck me too; I used to read Michener, back when I had a life and plenty of time.
I've said it before: Matt does a really good interview, all the right questions.
Of course, I shall take all the credit for conceiving of this conjunction and putting them together.
