Karen (2noelle) I was wondering if others are like me? I trade off on different series, I have 6 different cozy mystery series going on and I'm at different places in the sequence of them. Here's my list and where I am in each series :P)

Hannah Swensen mysteries, Joanne Fluke # 13 Apple Turnover Murder

BBQ Mysteries, Riley Adams I'm caught up!

Goldy Bear Catering mysteries, Diane Mott Davidson #6 Main Corpse

Coffee House Mysteries, Cleo Coyle #3 Latte Trouble

Fresh Baked mysteries, Livia Washburn #7 Wedding Cake Killer

In between these, I read other genres such as historical fiction, Tudor historical fiction, biographies, etc

How about you?

I have been following too many series. In fact, I was just making up a list of those I am most behind in for tomorrow's "Thursday Thirteen" post.

Leslie aka StoreyBook Reviews (hugbandit7) | 170 comments too many! LOL

I have used fictfact.com to keep track of where I am in various series (cozy and any others). However, it has been awhile since I used it so I know it is woefully out of date.

message 4: by Melodie (new)

Melodie (melodieco) | 5280 comments I don't have any idea how many series I'm following! I used to read the Hannah Swensen books, but vowed not to read anymore after the last one and stopped the Goldy Bear books books a couple of books ago. I've read a couple of the BBQ books and a few of the Fresh Baked books. Only read the first Coffee House book and never went back for more. Maybe I'll sit down and try and figure out how many series I'm trying to keep track of.

I understand about the Hannah Swensen series, but I've bought them all and I do enjoy the recipes. I realized that I needed to sit down and try to come up with a "direction" for my reading. So, I'm vowing, y'all heard it here first, to complete the series' I've already begun, at least get caught up to the latest book in the series, before I begin another. There are a lot of first in a series books available, but I'm not biting. Whatever happened to the stand alone books, anyway? :)

message 7: by Katie (new)

Katie (skateanddonate) | 18 comments Too many to count! According to FicFact 12 that I've already read at least 1 book 1 that I have the first library book waiting and 15 that I own at least the first book.

Merrill | 34 comments I am new to Cozys, I only reading 2 series.
A Piece of cake Mysteries by Jacklyn Brady( I am on the 2ent book)
A Mantra for Murder Mystery by Diana Killian ( I on the 1st book)

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) FictFact says I'm currently following 163 series. Figure 10% of those are not cozy, and probably 20% are series that are finished/cancelled.

So roughly about 120 or so.

Umm...wow. And I thought I had a lot to catch up on. I only have about a half dozen series in common with your list.

I finished and posted the "short list" I mentioned in my earlier post. You can if interested. Because it was written for the weekly "Thursday Thirteen" blog meme, it is in no way a comprehensive list, just some of those I am most behind in and wish to catch up on.

This list gives me a lot more series to look at. That I can currently think of I'm in the middle of 5 series.

message 15: by Karen M (new)

Karen M | 1436 comments Well, I'm in good company here. I start a series and then get distracted by other books and it's not just cozies that I neglect. I read a variety of genres and I seem to have the same problem with all of them. The sad thing is I have a lot of them sitting on the shelf or on the Kindle just waiting for me to get back to them. There are just too many good books out there!

message 16: by Sherry (new)

Sherry | 600 comments I'm reading Hazel Holt's Mrs. Malory series. They are very gentle and very English and also intelligent. I like her writing style and the stories are charming.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm reading three series by Rhys Bowen (Evans from Wales) (Mollie Series) (Her Royal Spyness) and I've read the first of a whole lot more with bursts of mid-series books. Oh yes, Charles Finch's historic English mysteries and Tamar Myers Africa books. Okay, a lot that I read is part of one series or another. I'm like Karen, I'm afraid.

message 18: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (finegael) | 284 comments I love the Cheese Shop series by Avery Aames. I've read all but the most recent one.

message 19: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Norma - I love the Her Royal Spyness series. Need to pick up on Charles Finch again. I read the first one.

message 20: by Leslie (last edited Mar 30, 2014 07:31PM) (new)

Debbie (debbiegray) | 316 comments I'm so glad to not be the only person with no reading self control. I just came across cozies about 18 months ago, and now I'm in deep. I think that I should read every author of the month, and so far they have all been new to me...so there are at least 20+ series there.
Last year at Thanksgiving a cousin gave me 72 books, most of them series books of some sort, most of them cozies.....so of course I have to research the series and start with #1. I try not to get too crazy, but life is short...read lots.

So right! Life is way too short, so I don't sweat where in a series I book I want to read might fall! If it's the first one, that's good. But if it's the tenth one, that's good, too. Not gonna delay a good read because I haven't read what came before. I used to, but not anymore! Nothing wrong with doing it the other way either, of course, but can't see missing out on a good read these days.

I know what your saying, but I've worked with part numbers and stock for over 40 years and I have a problem jumping in the middle, everything has to be numerical for my world to turn properly. Plus I'm so dang nosey that I worry that I've missed something in an earlier book.

Debbie (debbiegray) | 316 comments I'm only up to #6 in Stephanie Plum and really enoying them. I have read the first Clambake and have the second one in my TBR, I thought it was great. I love the Larua Levine books...they are right up there with Janet Evanovich in MHO.
