I do not know if there is a specific listopia for best authors of color but here is one that can be voted on and you can add books - 2015's Best African American Literature
/list/show/9...
Here you will also find links to previous years Best AA Literature.

I'd be really interested in finding out what everyone thought was their "best read of the year" so we could definitely do a poll. A Listopia could be cool too.
It's weird that a lot of the popular books like Marlon James' novel, The Brief History of Seven Killings, wasn't on any of Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ "best" list since a lot of people raved about it. ,aye they only put the ,oat commercially successful books on the list.

LOL on the James book.
Well every Best of Lists has their own criteria/purpose.
James' book could not be on the best of list for this year because it was published in Oct 2014 and books for the 2015 list had to have a US pub date between Nov 2014 - Nov 2015 (I forgot the specific date). Because it was just published for the 2014 list and since it was a BAB (big azz book) not many people had read it yet.

I think a lot of the selections that are up now in the final rounds for Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Books of the Year were voted on by a crop of people who may just read books in the lens of being genre specific. I say this because they have a lot of Young Adult books nominated for sections like Fiction and Debut Authors and in each of those section only the most popular releases, which were mostly by non-POC authors, have been added. If everyone would like to contribute their top published read for 2015 or top five 2015 reads for the year we could put together a list to display on our book club page or do a listopia to provide a different perspective for what books books were the best in our eyes.

Ah. That makes sense. Thank you.
I would love that! If a list oculd be made for the book club page.

I haven't, but I will definitely start a list as soon as I'm done with my project this Friday.

Did anyone else notice a lack of diversity in the books that Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ nominated for "best books of the year"? I know that such lists are always problematic to begin with, but there was such a gap of diversity - not even the Man Booker prize winner was on the nominated list!
Has anyone or would be interested in creating a "best books of the year" list focused on writers of color?
