Well, that's what libraries are for, so you don't have to buy. And you can get e-books from libraries as well, if that's your preference. I got a lot of ebooks I read this year through here logging in with my library account and then reading them through Adobe Digital Editions both on my PC and on my phone (there's an Android app).

Cyndy (cyndy-ksreader) | 231 comments Thanks for the hints about libraries. Sorry if I was obtuse, but I wasn't looking for library options - just wanted to whine about the prices of older Kindle versions. I still buy hardbacks when I find them cheaper than ebooks, but I really like the fact that Amazon mostly keeps track of what I buy and tells me when I accidently try to buy a book twice. ;-)

Please note, Amazon does NOT always tell you. If you buy it in different versions, you will not know. I bought a book in paperback, and it did NOT tell me when I bought it in eformat. After I read it in the eformat, I was going through my TBR pile, and discovered the duplicate purchase. If you want to be double sure, click on all options to be sure you did not buy it in another format.
