Renee Again...I'm going to have to say, you may need tissues. Gosh, why is it always the last book in a trilogy that has people crying?

Share what you think!

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments I can't believe she DIES!!!!
(Sob for all eternity)
( 1 hour after eternity)
Poor TOBIAS!!!!!
(Sob for another eternity)

Why does she have to die? I get that not all endings are happy, but can't the main character at least have lived? That was the worst twist in a book ever :'(
I don't want her to die!!!

Renee I KNOW!!! AND OMG THE ZIP LINE AND THEN SOBBING BECAUSE FEELS AND ALL THE MOVIE TRAILERS HAVE TRIS ON THE ZIP LINE AND OMG I JUST CAN'T DEAL WITH ALL THIS ANYMORE!!!!

Well, I think it was very sad, but it was also very noble of her to basically reform and save society by her sacrifice.

Renee (renspill) | 22 comments I liked it but I really wasn't a fan of tobias' perspective. I thought he sounded like a 16 year old girl on her period the entire time. that's just me though. I actually liked the ending because it was bold but hated it because FourTris and i really just loved and admired tris.

Leah | 620 comments I thought it was a stupid death to be honest. I guess it's practical, but surely the heroine would get a better ending. I know she died to save others but to die of BLOOD LOSS that's kinda pathetic (saying that, the amount of times she got shot I would have complained if she hadn't died). I thought it was really sad, but the funeral took place like two and a half years after she died... I mean really?? But I felt really sorry for Four. I liked him. But I didn't think he should get over her. I mean at the end he said he was forgetting her, forgetting her smile. I was like OH MY GOD THAT CAN'T HAPPEN!! I didn't expect a happy ending, but I think Tris and Four should at least be together, dead or alive. They had to be together!!

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments Hahah, 'a 16 year old girl on her period' nice one there, I totally agree

Leah | 620 comments Ye. Nice comparison. I thought Tris's personality was practically non-existent. She didn't really show any emotions other than anger which was totally unnecessary most of the time.

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments Is it just me or is the actor for Tris in the movie soooot right. Like I don't think Shailene Wodley really fits the role, Theo James is good as Four but I think there could've been a better Actor for Tris

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments That didn't make sense, man I've got to brush up on my iPad typing skills...

message 10: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments Lol. No, Theo James seems like the perfect Four but Shailene Woodly doesn't seem like a great Tris, we'll have to see how they are in the film. Still can't wait!!

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments Wait... We discussed this n school didn't we?

message 12: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments Yep. We have loads of times. We discussed it today in PE.

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments I know, Holly called me Violent and all I was doing was annoying her with my really bad Texas/ Cansas accent. I mean was it really that bad??? Reading over this now, I bet Cansas is in Texas

message 14: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments Lol. I didn't hear your accent.

Renee I liked how Tris sacrificed herself. It was very honorable in my opinion, even if it was sad and it allowed a reformation in society. She became a hero and managed to squeeze in life experiences while she could.
And that's why she was put into Dauntless and fit in so well, because she is reckless but fiercely loyal as well.

message 17: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments I dunno, I agree she died as a sacrifice for the better of others, but all the way through the series she was willing to die. Once she finally went to die, she decided she didn't want to anymore, then went and sacrificed herself. I mean REALLY?? She didn't exactly think about Four's feelings either and I thought that was the saddest aspect. I never really liked Tris and I thought she was really stupid. I thought the best thing for everyone ELSE would be for her to die (I know that sounds harsh but that's what I think, sorry if that offends anyone) but when she actually did I was like WHAT?!?! She can't die!! As much as I wanted her to, I didn't like that she died. She just left Four. She forgot about her BOYFRIEND!! The one she was madly in love with!! I thought that was stupid.

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments I agree, and four (I've gone back to nickname basis) is a jerk for starting to forget her. I must say the ending confused me with all the weird emotional qouty malarky but it seemed to me he fell in love with chrsitina

Renee (renspill) | 22 comments I have go say that I disagree. He's not a jerk for forgetting her. That's what happens when someone dies. You desperately try to hang on to the pictures of their face in your head and when they're finally gone it's terrible.

message 20: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments Ye. I hated that he forgot her, I think a better ending would be if he commit suicide to be with her. OR she could have just SURVIVED!! After surviving a DEATH SERUM that is supposedly IMPOSSIBLE the survive, I think dying of blood loss is a pretty stupid way to go. I mean if you're gonna kill the main character off, at least do it properly for God's sake!!

message 21: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments But he shouldn't have forgotten her!! As cheesy as this sounds, she was the love of his life and he was the love of hers (however short it was) she wouldn't have forgotten him!!

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments Fair point
Leah - totally agree. It was a bad way to die, out of all the things survived.

its like someone surviving WW3, an alien apocalypse, escaping a gang load of monster zombies, a bomb attack, a lethal injection and a deadly illnesses, only to die by eating some gone off food or something. I'm not saying that's a stupid way to die, but its a pretty small thing compared to the other things they have survived. If that makes sense...

message 23: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments I totally agree. So... The gone off food, did they die of Salmonella?? Lol.

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments Maybe they ate gone off raw bacon... Maybe

message 26: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments How stupid were they... I mean who eats raw bacon?!?! They probably ate it by mistake, thinking it was ham or something, not that anyone would be that stupid but yknow... they mighta been. Lol.

message 27: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments Lol.

Renee wait what???? \@.o?

I loveeeeeee allegiant...well sorta ....but why'd she have to go and kill off tris ;'( (my failed attempt at a sad face is the bomb :P )

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments Well lets see...
Perhaps there was a hungry girl on the day of strike. Both her parents were at work, so it was just her, her older sister and a dog. Perhaps the girl decided to have a salad, so she chopped up some apples, tomatoes, and lettuce and mixed it into a bowl.
Then before she was about to add some grapes, she rummaged deep into the drawers of her fridge. The girl then finds what she thinks is a pack of Parma Ham, that she possibly previously bought (her memory is pretty bad) and as much as the girl was trying to be a Vegetarian, despite the fact her parents force her to eat meat, she knows there is a rule in the household:

1: Whatever you buy, you have to eat it.

Looking at the best before date, the girls sees it's gone off, by a week. But not wanting to let the animals life go to waste, and because of rule number two in the household:

2: Do NOT waste.

She decides to put it in her salad, mostly to avoid the lecture her parents would give her for not eating what she bought. So, the still hungry girl puts the grapes back in the fridge and opens the pack of what she thinks is parma ham.
She opens the packet and tries a slice. ( Bear in mind the front of pack had a simple German brand name and the girl wasn't focusing on the image on the front. Bear in mind also that the girl's eyesight is not the best, and she couldn't read the small print on the back, since her dog ate her glasses and she's been too lazy to get new ones. Bear in mind as well that she simply couldn't be bothered to read the small print)

The girl registers that instead of tasting salty like it should have, it tasted awfully smoky and was very squidgy, but put it down to different brands. The girl has great trouble cutting it up so has to separate each and every slice (about 25 altogether) and then mix it in. The girl, suspecting nothing of the origin in her bowl, goes to munch happily on her salad whilst watching TV that she has no interest in. she gives her sister a tiny piece of ham to try, but the sister dosen't like it. However, the dog does, so when the girl is full, she gives the remains to her dog, who happily devours it.

The next morning, after the girl has finished breakfast and goes to shower, her older sister is chatting to her mom:

M: Hmmm, shall i put ham in your sandwiches?
S: Oh, Rebecca ate some parma ham yesterday.
M: Parma ham?
S: Yeh, in her salad
M: We don't have any parma ham.
S: Yeh we did...
M: Was it in a green pack?
S: Yeah, i think so...why?
M: That was raw bacon.
S: :/

Later, when the girl finds out:

reaction... ' I ATE RAW BACON? THAT WAS OUT OF DATE??'

rushes to look up symptoms of Salmonella.

Important lesson learned:

-read the small print
-or read the packaging
-or read the label

THE END

Leah | 620 comments Wow!! That was a long message.

Renee Guys, this is the Allegiant chat thread, can you please take this to the normal chat thread?? Sorry it's just very confusing!

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments Sorry. Allegiant. Yeh...

i think this was pretty bad based on how it was written. all very confusing with characters i couldn't care less about

message 35: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments I thought the switching between Tris's and Tobias's perspective was really confusing because... Well let's just say the author isn't the best in the way she writes. Don't get me wrong, she has amazing ideas, but let's face it, she's not the best writer. I think the trilogy would be so much better if it was written by someone like Susanne Collins or Jennifer L. Armentrout etc.

message 37: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments Ye, other authors have done really well, using this technique, but Veronica Roth didn't pull it off.

message 38: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments Ye. She made it obvious that something was gonna happen; something like Tris dying, coz otherwise she wouldn't have needed to split the perspective.

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments really? i had no idea.

message 40: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments Really?? It was so predictable!!

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments huh, guess i just missed it

message 42: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments What?? Why?? That's stupid. The whole point of making up was that they'd be TOGETHER!!

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Tris !!!!!!! *sob*
Uriah !!!!!!! *sob*
Don't you just expect it to pick up where she left off and her to be alive and she is dead and then your really depressed and it's so horrid and *sob*

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

4. 5. 6
Tobias. Veronica Roth. Tris.

Charm (charmaineuy) The part where she dies broke me. But then, when you think about it, it's kind of worth it (or not) because she sacrificed herself for the greater good. Her abnegation-ness is still with her and abnegation til the end. This ending took a lot of guts in Veronica Roth's part and i admire her for it.

BUT IT STILL HURTS OKAY.

IT MIGHT BE GOOD BUT IT. STILL. HURTS

I WILL NEVER RECOVER FROM THIS

Bookloverhugger aka:Rebecca | 936 comments I agree, I will never, ever recover

message 47: by Leah (new) - rated it 2 stars

Leah | 620 comments Lol.

Angie (angiejh) | 45 comments I thought this novel really ruined this series. It was just so full of crazy plotlines with even more ridiculous and rushed explanations.

Tobias' prspective was really awful and he just sounded like Tris the whole novel.

I am so glad Caleb didn't die because Tris told him to, so that she could maybe finally forgive him.
Tris' death was so ridiculous and hardly heroic. I understand that she was trying to save Caleb from doing it but seriously did David have to be the one to shoot her. It was hardly an epic death.

I dont have that connection that so many others seem to have with the novel. When I first read she was dead I was a little bit sad, yet happy that the novel would finally end and put itself out of its misery. It probably should have ended in Insurgent.

The Author was pretty much telling us the whole series that: "Tris is ALWAYS right" which I really hated.
