2016/2017 Group Series - Troubleshooters by Suzanne Brockmann
The book Do or Die is listed as book #17, in addition to being the first book in the spinoff series, Reluctant Heroes. I've read the book and am on the fence as to whether it should be added to this series. While there are some crossover characters, it isn't connected to Troubleshooters (the security firm or its members). Maybe when the second book is released we'll be able to better judge.
In the meantime, we've got over a year to figure it out!

Yay!! So excited to start this series. I've heard about how good it is for a long time, just never managed to get started on reading it. Now I will! :)
I LOVE this series. It is my most favorite romantic suspense ever and I use it as the standard for judging others in the genre. There are multiple storylines in each book and the ops are tension filled.
I finished the series five years ago and gobbled up every new book release and short story. I'm going to try to do a reread with the group, this time listening to the series.

So much so that I have them in dead tree format (multiple editions of each - weird, I know) as well as the eBooks. I've read each book more than twice over so I'm going to try an audio sample cos I would love to join you in what will be my first ever group read.

Hope you can! I've got an older audio version but Brockmann released new versions narrated by Phillip Lawlor. It'll be interesting to possibly compare the two.

The series gets progressively better, especially after book #3. I read the series back to back:)

Wow Beeg...you do love it! That's exciting to hear. How fitting that this be your first "group read"! Are you also joining us for the In Death series group read?

I've always heard that it gets better & better as you go. I know Jonetta supports that. I'm so looking forward to both this and the ID series reads in Jan.

I think you were the first person to recommend it to me. Since then, several other friends have also recommended it. As it works out, I will be reading book 1 prior to Jan. as it's one of the books in my traveling book club and I'm next to receive & read it.

I don't remember any of the other books especially focusing on flashbacks. There are some where they go back and revisit the history of a main character but not using the device found in book #1. It's more like multiple storylines going on in the present.

Looks like the narrators changed with each book...William Dufris book #1, Carrington McDuffie book #2, Laura Hicks book #3...and so on.

thanks so much for checking it out. I've listened to quite a few and didn't realize anyone had done the 'voices' before Lawler. Thanks again. I'm looking forward to reading the series and the ID one too.

That's wonderful, Denise! I'm glad you're willing to participate and look forward to your comments.
Denise, that is awesome! Thank you for choosing our group for your first series read. I know you'll enjoy it. I'm looking forward to it myself. :)
