What book have your read more often than any other? I think One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. This was a favorite of mine growing up and now a favorite for my kids.

What book was the hardest for you to finish? I've been reading Under the Net for 12 years! I just can't seem to finish it.

What book kept you up way past your bedtime? The entire Harry Potter series, especially Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Recently, Dragonfly in Amber. I usually just give up if they're too hard to finish for any reason.

I don't reread as an adult, but as a kid/teen? The Arctic Incident, for sure.

A Storm of Swords: Steel and Snow. I've never finished the second part.

Recently, both Doomsday Book and Uprooted had me up until past 4am.

Currently reading Luna: New Moon (excellent) and Golden Son. Next is Radiance.

Ancillary Justice was the last book I finished. The last book I read something from was The Assassination of Margaret Thatcher: Stories.

What was the first "grown up" book you ever read?
I haven't the slightest idea. I read way too many books when I was a kid.

What book would you never remove from your book shelf?
I'm pretty ruthless about getting rid of books because I have very little space to store them. Dune has been on the shelf for a very long time, though.

What book have your read more often than any other?
Probably The Phantom Tollbooth. It's still one of my favorite books of all time.

What book was the hardest for you to finish?
Dracula for sure. I couldn't even finish it. As far as I'm concerned, the story is over halfway through the book. I'm picking a book I actually did finish at a later time, then I'd say The Golden Compass.

What book kept you up way past your bedtime?
Most recently, Ancillary Justice. There's a tipping point at the end where if you read that far, it's extremely difficult to put the book down until it's over.

What book is next on your To Be Read list?
Golden Son, I think.

This is a pretty legit idea. I am not completely new (re-discovered Good Reads in October and finally joined some of these discussion groups then), but hopefully I can answer.

1. What was the last book you read before filling out this questionnaire?

The Book of Lost Things- which was excellent. I highly recommend it. Currently, I am reading Sometimes a Great Notion which is harder to get through. Particularly the first "chapter." Now that I am about a quarter of the way through, though it is interesting enough to continue though. I rarely ever stop reading a book.

2. What was the first "grown up" book you ever read?

It was either A Child Called "It" or The Diary of a Young Girl both for school in about third grade or so. (I was a weird kid). I would say the first "grown up" book I read for pleasure was probably 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in 5th grade.

3. What book would you never remove from your book shelf?

There are several: Brave New World, Crime and Punishment, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, The Complete Sherlock Holmes, Jules Verne: Seven Novels, Ender's Game- there are more, but you get the idea :)

4. What book have your read more often than any other?

All of the Harry Potter books, the Narnia books, my Nancy Drew books (which I still read sometimes when I'm bored)- mostly series.

5. What book was the hardest for you to finish?

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn- it just made me so angry. I didn't like the racism in it and I hated the writing style. Everything about that book is awful. I just can't. I'm not a huge fan of A Tale of Two Cities, Great Expectations or A Clockwork Orange either. It physically hurt me to read those books.

6. What book kept you up way past your bedtime?

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children was the most recent one. There have been others, but for now, I highly recommend that book.

7. What book is next on your To Be Read list?

After I am done with the monster I am reading, I will move onto either The Mysterious Affair at Styles or Murder at the Vicarage. I have never read Agatha Christie and that will be changing before the year is done.

Warriors Box Set These six books. I stopped counting after 20.

The Shack My grandma tried and couldn't even finish it, and that is saying something. Other than that The Gunslinger It can be a pretty hard book to stick with, but is well worth it in the end.

What was the first "grown up" book you ever read? I actually don't know, as soon as I could climb up to get them I used to pinch my Mum's books and read them under the covers at night! The book that stands up as being 'real' to me is probably The Diary of a Young Girl I remember it being the first book without that childish feeling of happily ever after, I was very young and absolutely devastated when I got to the end of it.

What book would you never remove from your book shelf? Theres a lot! i tend to giveaway favourites and then rebuy them for myself because I just want to share, its like look this book destroyed me emotionally, now you read it!

What book have your read more often than any other? Probably the harry potter series or clan of the cave bear. I think I will be adding the outlander books to this list too.

What book was the hardest for you to finish? lord of the rings, I was so excited to read and it just didn't. I persevered but I felt someone had taken all these things and made them boring.

What book kept you up way past your bedtime? all books, probably most the harry potter books when they first came out, memoirs of a geisha, how to talk to a widower.

What book is next on your To Be Read list? probably Scarlet the second book in the luna trilogy or birdsong.

OMG! I am the same way. I'm always giving away my favorites and then rebuying them. I have one book that I have bought 5 times!

I'm currently reading Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi.

I think it was The A.B.C. Murders by Agatha Christie.

Oh... this is hard. If I have to choose one, I would say The Calling by James Frey.

Devil May Cry by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I lost interest in it, unlike the first book I read from her. I still haven't finished it.

It has to be Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. Good read.

I borrowed The Wallflower, Vol. 1 by Tomoko Hayakawa from by best friend and am planning to return it soon, so I think that would be it.

The Lovely Bones. It took me 2 and half weeks to get through this because I could only read a little bit at a time before I got bored and had to put it down.

What was the first "grown up" book you ever read? I'm not sure. If The Hobbit is a grown up book, then probably that one, otherwise it was a novel by Robert A. Heinlein involving a brain surgeon and a biochemist, but I read another one with a brain surgeon later by him, so there are at least two like that.

What was the first "grown up" book you ever read? Hm, this one was a tough question. For school, we were made to read so many: Shakespear, Poe, Dickens, etc. I loved them all though. But I thing the first one I really read on my own had something to do with blood and roses in the title or something. Don't even remember the author anymore it's been so long ago. I'd remember the book if I'd started reading it though. It was a murder mystery filled to the brim with blood, sex, and cursing. I do remember my grandma throwing a fit when she found out what was in it and took it away. After I found where she hid it and took it back she took it again and ripped it up. I never got to finish it. But it got me hooked on murder mysteries. (I could've cared less about the language or sex, but the true-to-life storytelling and the gore/mystery combo was what hooked me.) But if we're talking the first one I ever completed that wasn't for school, then it would have to be Cat and Mouse.

What book would you never remove from your book shelf? Considering I have shelves in 2 separate states, there's a list. Not to mention I'm a hoarder when it comes to books. (As a kid I used to say that the only way I'd ever be happy is if I owned every book ever written by every author. Of course I didn't realize then exactly how many that was until I got older.) But, if I still have them on my shelf at my grandma's, I'd have to say it would be my 3 favorite books of all time: Blood and Chocolate, The Silver Kiss, & Cat and Mouse (which was a birthday present given to me by my best friend at the time and the first present I can remember ever receiving from someone outside of my family.)

What book have your read more often than any other? Another tough one. I don't think there's any particular book that I've read more than others. But a book series I've read more that others that I would love to revisit has got to be the Goosebumps Series. I had almost every one when I was a kid, including the very first one - Welcome to Dead House - that I really wanted but was so hard to find. Then I got really sick and my grandma went out searching stores only to find the only one she could to bring home to me as a surprise and gave it to me when I felt better. Then, later, someone else ended up giving me one as a gift for the holidays so I ended up with two! I passed one on to my mom to read, figuring she'd like it too.

What book was the hardest for you to finish? The very first one I would have to say would have to be The Holy Bible. Don't even remember which version. All I remember is I was determined to read it all the way through so I picked it up and started with the first page which was something like Abraham begoth whoever begoth whoever begoth and so on like that for the first couple sections. I closed it and was like 'nope, not happening'. Too complicated. But if we're talking finished, then that's a toss-up between A Tale of Two Cities (it took me months to get through the beginning it was so boring, but once I got past the first part it turned out to be a pretty decent read, though definitely with some parts that needed to be reread) and another book I can't remember the title to. I'd remember it if I'd seen it. But it had something to do with the end times and the revelations of the bible and the second coming of Christ. It was written by some pastor or reverend and he used references of the Titanic and everything else. I picked it up at a fair. One of the booths was giving out free religious books and bibles. It was so boring it took me almost a year to finish and it wasn't anywhere near as thick as what I usually read. But after I finished it I gifted it over to my mom who finished it quickly and absolutely loved it. So I guess to each their own.

What book kept you up way past your bedtime? Lots of them, but most recently would have to be either The Hypnotists or Three Times Lucky.

What book is next on your To Be Read list? This is a long list, too, but I've got 5 checked out from the library now on my list. They are: 1001 Children's Books You Must Read Before You Grow Up, Cleopatra VII: Daughter of the Nile - 57 B.C., Lady Margaret's Ghost: A Felicity Mystery (American Girl Mysteries, Peril at King's Creek: A Felicity Mystery, and Skylark.

I guess that about sums everything up. Hope this helps with someone's book quest at least!

* What was the last book you read before filling out this questionnaire? The Girl Who Played with Fire. I am currently working my way through the whole Millenium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson.

* What was the first "grown up" book you ever read? Junk by Melvin Burgess. Despite the subject matter and language used, I studied this as a teenager at school and I really respect my teacher for believing that we were mature and grown up enough to read this properly.

* What book would you never remove from your book shelf? There are so many good books on my shelves but if I had to pick just one, I'm going to say The Time Traveler's Wife.

* What book have your read more often than any other? Probably Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone because I would reread it whenever a new Harry Potter book came out.

What book was the hardest for you to finish? Mansfield Park - I made it to the end eventually but never again!

I've just finished Patricia Cornwells 'portrait of a killer'. That's 2 hours of my life I will never get back, it's horrendous. I have just downloaded 'let's pretend this never happened' by Jenny Lawson, should be some light relief

I have enough recommended books to keep me going for a while but this is a good questionnaire to fill out. Besides it is always great to keep lengthening one's recommended tbr list.

What was the last book you read before filling out this questionnaire? - That would be Blue Lily, Lily Blue although I am about 100 pages off from finishing The Raven King

What was the first "grown up" book you ever read? - I wouldn't call it 'grown up' but I first read Pride and Prejudice when I was about 13/14. It is still my favourite Austen novel and one of my go to favourite books.

What book would you never remove from your book shelf? - Northern Lights. It was one of the first real fantasy books that I read as a child and it has been one of my favourites ever since.

What book have you read more often than any other? - I always find myself going back to listen to the audiobook version of The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet. Although another close second would be my All Creatures Great and Small box set. They are the best pick-me-up books in my collection and they never fail to get me out of a reading slump.

What book was the hardest for you to finish? - Queen of Shadows. It's not that I didn't like it, because I really do, but some parts were a little irritating and it became a really slow read.

What book kept you up way past your bedtime? - Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. I started reading this quite late into the night but I fell in love with it so much that I had to read it in one sitting. Now I mention it I need to re-read this again because the story was just beautiful.

What book is next on your To Be Read list? It is currently between Truthwitch and A Court of Mist and Fury. I have no idea which one I am going to pick.
