A book with a number in the title.
3: Did you suggest this topic originally, or did it just happen to fit a book you REALLY want to read right now?
No. I didn't suggest any topics because I wasn't in the challenge last year. This is a book I'm reading for my IRL book club and this is where it fit in the reading challenge.
4: Pick ONE other topic that you wish made the cut this year that didn't.
A book you bought or will buy from an independent bookstore or from a charity shop. I'd pick this topic because it would give me an excuse to go buy more books at my local bookstore.

A book with an elderly person as a main character. It's not the kind of book I would normally reach for, but I've heard really good things about this one.
3: Did you suggest this topic originally, or did it just happen to fit a book you REALLY want to read right now?
I didn't suggest any topics since I only discovered this group after the list was already compiled. But this topic did fit a book that I really wanted to read.
4: Pick ONE other topic that you wish made the cut this year that didn't.
Well, I've ended up incorporating three into my challenge:
- A book with an elderly person as a main character, for this prompt
- A book published in a significant year for you, to replace "Reader's Choice"
- A book with a long title (8-10 words or more), as a Wild Card in addition to all other prompts, instead of replacing one
If I had to pick something in addition to those, I'd probably say "a book you judged too quickly." I think it would be really interesting to see if the book really was as good/bad as we thought.

A book with a day of the week in the title

A book based on an ancient epic

I chose to read something for a book published the year I was born. I did not suggest this topic; however, it fit in with another challenge for another group.
I just noticed the children's "choose your own adventure" book. I used to love those, and if I had seen it earlier, I might have picked it.

I read The Private Diary of Mr. Darcy for this prompt.

I chose "A book with 'diary' in the title" as my rejected suggestion.

I admit it--I had a different rejected suggestion picked out for this week, but since I read this book and it had the word Diary in it, I figured I'd use it.

Oh what? I need to read the rest of the list. Hmm.
