I don't know how you're mapping the unique locations, but this also included Alicante, Indris (supposedly located between Germamny and France) and a demon realm referred to as Eden.

Fictional town of Starkfield, Massachusetts. The novel is inspired by an incident that happened in Lenox, Massachusetts, where Wharton live while she wrote the book.

BTW, Santa Teresa doesn't exist. I believe it is a fictionalized Santa Barbara.

Hope that makes your job easier, Emm :)

Stacey D. | 1908 comments Annihilation

Area X, Southern Reach

Okay, the story is sci-fi and the area is fictitious...but it sounds like a southern US seacoast area off the Florida coast or off the coast of the Florida Keys.

And thanks for the tremendous job you're doing with the map, Emm. It looks great!

Pauline - Thank you so much! Yes! I think we will be able to do that quite easily using the table feature already built into Google Maps. :D

Katie - Just so I can be sure I've added your locations correctly... are Lower East Side and East Village separate locations that should be mapped or are you saying that the CBGB's at 315 Bowery and Tompkins Square Park in Alphabet City are the places that should be mapped.

message 296: by Stacey (new)

Stacey D. | 1908 comments Emm,

Sorry for the confusion.

You noted my recent add as Area X, but the title of the book is Annihilation. The location should be noted as: Area X,Southern Reach.

The star appears on Key West, but I'd put it off the tip of Florida (past the Everglades), instead. Think it makes more sense for this story.

Thanks! Again, my apologies for not clarifying this better :))
