La_mariane | 36 comments Hello fellow readers!

Teresa and I both want to read Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë for our challenge : thus the idea of a buddy read.

We'll start next week, on the 11th. Everybody is welcomed to join in. In fact, the more, the merrrier. Post your thoughts, questions, reactions to the chapter you're reading. Just be careful not to spoil others if you're further along.

Good reading untill next week!

Teresa (teremazon) The 11th it is, then :-)

Peabody what challenge is this for?

message 4: by Teresa (new) - added it

Teresa (teremazon) Well, you could use this entry for a number of different categories:

* Europe

* First book by its author (debut novel)

* Last book by its author (she only wrote this one)

* book that you have only seen the movie, not read the book (if that is the case for you)

* if you have not read it yet, book by an author you have never read before

* perhaps even a book you own but have never read?

* Perhaps Re-read it as favourite book

* or you may have not read it since High School (this is my case, but I am actually counting it for the Popsugar 2015 list challenge, which I am repeating this year too as "Classic romance".

Teresa (teremazon) Great! Christina, we have decided to start on Monday 11th

Melissa Cool! I just finished this book and counted it as my "Classic" novel. I would love to discuss it with you all.

message 8: by Teresa (new) - added it

Teresa (teremazon) I was not aware it had been banned! So it could certainly for many different categories.

message 9: by Teresa (new) - added it

Teresa (teremazon) Damn autocorrect! I meant it could "fit" many categories. . .

message 10: by Margo (new)

Margo (dandylines) Wuthering Heights was banned ! Amazing.

Melissa I wonder why it was banned? Maybe the female heroine was unseemingly passionate! ;)

Nathalie Vercammen | 8 comments Maybe I have to re-read it. It's a beautiful one.

Teresa (teremazon) I actually did not like it much when I had to read it in High School, and it is getting quite hard to plough through it now, but I am persevering. It is one of my least beloved classics . . .

I usually read a lot faster then this book is going, It does take a little more effort to become lost in the story.

I remember in high school something about it being banned because the main hero Heathcliff was a very abusive person.. I could be remembering wrong though.

Peabody I've always thought of it as a romance, but it's actually a Gothic novel. I thought that was interesting.

Me too Christina! It's very dark!
