In The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, Howard Roark is an architect.
"Where'd you go, Bernadette?" -- two of the main characters including the titular character are architects.
Under Lock & Skeleton Key is perhaps architect adjacent. A magician returns home to work for her family business, which designs and builds secret rooms/staircases/etc. in people's homes.

A good page turner! Just beware that its getting compared to "Gone Girl." While I did enjoy it, I don't think anything can top that plot twist in Gone Girl, IMO.
