The quintessential actor to play any military, govt, bureaucrat or scientist, in a '60s or '70s thriller. (The best era for thrillers, period)

'Marath0n Man'

'Fail Safe'

'Black Sunday'

'Demon Seed'

Regardless of what his persona was in real life; the kind of characters he played as an actor, are the kind of guy I wish we had more of. Thinking men. Men with values. Not drones.

Robert Kratky (bolorkay) | 8 comments I really enjoyed him when he was teamed up with Hal Holbrook in the "Creepshow" episode based on a Stephen King story.

Good call there. I have hardly ever watched horror movies 'in theater' but I heard about that flick. Another one--very notorious--same format, (same year?) 'Twilight Zone: the Movie'. Co-directed by Joe Dante of 'Animal House' fame. Wound up killing movie great,Vic Morrow. He was acquitted but I don't agree he was innocent.

Anyway Weaver had a superb, crisp, dry, speaking voice. He and Halbrook both--two very fine talents. Coupla of my faves.

Even in a film filled with superb performances (such as 'Fail Safe') Weaver stood out as remarkable. The way he broke down. Wow.
